House of God Baptist Church - Los Delicia

First Baptist Church of Southern Pines College Group came for their seventh trip to Honduras to serve the Lord.  They took on quiet a different challenge this year  than in years past.  We asked Pastor Bryan early on if they would be interested in helping build a church.  He talked to the group and they said,"Yes!!!"  Pastor Bryan and team came ready for a new challenge to help three other teams build a church.
Five years ago we built a home in Los Delicia for a family.  During the week the team wanted to do VBS for the children.  The church was a distance away and so the team asked the owner of the cow pasture could they do VBS in his cow pasture.  The man's name is Carlos and five years ago he was a devout Catholic.  Actually this area of Los Delicia was a prominent Catholic community.  So Carlos graciously said yes to VBS literally in his cow pasture with cows all around the VBS group.  Two years later the pastor of the church asked for a evangelism team to go out into Los Delicia.  So we honored his request and provided an evangelism team.  Last year we built the pastor's brother a home in Los Delicia.  One afternoon we went to check on the team in Los Delicia.  The home owner shared about a church plant in his community.  He asked if we would like to go see it.  We said we would love to.  We got in the truck and headed down the dirt path to the main road.  We turned left and a mile later turned left into the location of the cow pasture.  Mike and I looked at each other and said,"This is the cow pasture we had VBS in five years ago.  Carlos, the Catholic, came running out of his house to greet us and share how he had accepted Christ and God lead him to donate the cow pasture for the church.  The church has been meeting under the stars for a little over a year now.  Four teams have stepped forward to build the church Los Delicia calls House of God Baptist Church.  Follow us as we start this four team journey of this church.  Bear in mind, we will go one month before starting the construction again but from that point it will be every team until it is completed. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
Matthew 16:18

First Baptist Church Southern PInes College Group Arrived in Los Delicia

The team got up bright and early and headed to the cow pasture of Los Delicia.  They arrived not knowing what to expect with building a church.  First and foremost the team introduced themselves and the Hondurans introduced the men and women of the House of God Baptist Church.   We shared with the North American team how all this had come together and how beautiful it was to be a part of such a journey with God.  After we opened with prayer the young people got busy finding where God wanted them to be this week.  They all pitched in and did whatever it took to get the job done in preparation for the laying of the first block.  A hour into the construction Pastor Bryan and Karen, female chaperone shared they enjoy helping build a church.  This is a beautiful challenge God has placed before the team.  There is 2000 blocks which go into a church and this team had to move some of them inside the foundation for construction to begin.  The four cornerstones were laid by Pastor Bryan and Pastor G.  The team watched and learned how these five days would play a big part in the finish of God's house.

"The stone which the builders rejected, became the chief cornerstone."
Psalm 118

First Block is Ready to be covered in Prayer

Pastor Amado is the senior pastor of House of God Baptist Church.  We learned our dear and long time friend, Nelson for Colonia Unidas is the Pastor of House of God Baptist Church.  So we all gathered around and placed hands on each other connecting ourselves with Pastor Amado and Nelson.  Pastor Bryan with the help of Maida, our translator, gave this first block to the Lord and prayed for this cow pasture which is now becoming God's house.  All the people shouted "AMEN".

"Pray continually."
I Thessalonians 5:17

862 blocks laid in four and half days

Team leader, Pastor Bryan, along side the other chaperone, Barry decided to put a set of two or three into each section to start the process of block laying.  But before they dispersed to their different locations construction team leader, Pastor G, had a block 101 lesson teaching the nine new team members along with the returners how to properly lay block and mescla.  They paired up and went off to laying the blocks for the day.  Just like with a home they could only to five courses the first day and they accomplished their goal.  We never heard one of these young people complain about how hot is was which it was very warm this week.  The temperature got up over 100 degrees several days  They took such pride in the laying of each and every block.  They did this project with the joy of Christ in their hearts.  The maturity of this group of young people was beautiful.  On the first night Pastor Bryan asked the young people a question "Why are you here?"  He referenced Matthew 28:16-20 as he shared for them to ponder on this question throughout the week and you will realize you are not here to make a difference in someone elses' life but God wants to make a difference in each of your lives this week.  Go out each day radiating the love of Jesus Christ as you work beside your Honduran brothers and sisters.  Five years ago, Carlos saw Jesus Christ through a VBS group in his cow pasture and an evangelism team as well.  Let's show Los Delicia Jesus yet one more time for these beautiful people of Honduras.  All God's folks say AMEN!!!

"Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him they worshiped him but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said,  "Therefor go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:16-20

Our Honduran Family

I can never share enough how we are so very blessed with our Honduran family.  They go beyond any expectations we ask of them.  They are the most generous, godly and gracious people I have ever had the experience of knowing.  God has truly blessed NCBM with the many people who have come across our paths in the last five years.  Today I would like to say thank you brothers and sisters for always making Mike and my job so easy and a pleasure each and every day.

"You are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Galatians 3:26-28

Mrs. Karen

This week God blessed these young people with a very special lady who wears a huge smile all the time, Mrs. Karen.  She was there to keep the young people hydrated and to care for any needs which came their way.  She was continuously giving out water to the North Americans as well as to the Hondurans.  She did this with a servant heart and a gracious attitude.  On the second day her water/Gatorade station got moved to another location.  This location was quiet a bit away from the job site but became a great place to go and cool off and refresh themselves for their task ahead.  Thank you Mrs. Karen for keeping the team hydrated and being their mom this week while away from home.  We love you!!!!!

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus,
Who being in very nature of God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death,
even death on a cross!
Therefor God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:5-11

Father/Son team

We would love to welcome our first time, Elliot, who got to come with his dad, Barry who has been the adult chaperone for seven years.  The last three years Barry was blessed with his daughter Kensley.  This year God allowed one of his other children, Elliot to come and work beside Dad.  This was how they were all week.  They worked side by side.  Cooked breakfast each morning together at 5:30 I must add.  Elliot was in charge of cooking the eggs and the pancakes.  Barry cooked the bacon.  They got in there each morning with joy to prepare breakfast for the team.  On the job site they worked side by side sharing in some memories they will treasure for a life time.  It did my heart good to see how close these two were during their time together in Honduras.  Job well done fellows.

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

Generous church family

The team gathered together one evening and put together baby bags and hygiene kits.  For those of you who do not know what goes into each bag, the baby bags consist of a onsie, a thin blanket, two large safety pins with a cloth diaper and if we are blessed a very small stuffed animal or a beanie baby.  The hygiene kit consists of toothpaste, toothbrushes, washcloth and soap.  This group put together about 150 baby bags and about 100 hygiene kits.  All this was donations from their church family.  It was a joy to see these young people come together in the even after working out in the sun to put these bags together in a very warm dining room.  Thank you Southern Pines Baptist for your generosity.

"He has scattered out his gifts to the ones in need,
his righteousness endures forever,
his horn will be lifted on high."
Psalm 112:9

The First Team to Work on a Project at Mt. Horeb

The team got to go out to Mt Horeb to visit what God was doing.  They got to go up on one of the rocks to look out over Honduras and the Pacific Ocean.  They headed up to the multi-purpose building to find the guys moving a lot of I mean a lot of dirt from one side to the inside of the porch all by hand.  Some of them asked could we please come back the next day and help move the dirt.  God once again blessed these young people beyond any one's imagination.  It was hard manual labor which they only put a small dent in but provided a little relief to our Honduran workers.  Thank you guys and Megan and Kelcy for a job well done.  There was some sore bodies the next day but they said it was all for Jesus.  Do I get an AMEN here?

"Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.  Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb when he said to me "Assemble  the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children"
Deuteronomy 4:9-10

Being still and know that I am God

There is so much more than building a home or a church in this case.  There is a time to be still and be in the presence of God by watching, chatting, eating, playing or just sitting still.  These are all very necessary in a mission trip to Honduras.  You need to take time and reflect on why you are here and what God is doing in your life this week.  Some of the God moments in the evening were:
Zach - He observed how the Hondurans just hung out.  They would stop take a break, laughing and joking about whatever.  North Americans think we have to work, work, work.  We are so task oriented.  We need to learn how to just hang out.
Kelsey -  Took the time to wave at someone who was going by.  She noticed he had a solemn look on his face but once Kelsey waved at him his face was shining with a huge smile.  She wants to take more time to smile at others and give them encouragement.
Bryan - Committed to play soccer with a young man the next day at 1:00.  Kevin was there at 1:00 sharp ready to play soccer.  They are committed people.  Let's all try to be committed to others like Kevin.
Adam - Noticed the most generous hospitality throughout the whole week.  They wanted to make sure every one got fed each and every day  They were most generous with everything.  We need to be more generous with what God has given us.
Erin - There was two different languages but one bond, Jesus Christ.   Sometimes just a smile is all we need to give out to share the love of Jesus.
Megan - She shared how she was being still and being in Christ present on the job site one day.  I was standing on a spot inside the foundation and thought one day someone will stand on this very spot and possibly accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.  This church will bless many people for many years to come.
Caroline - Was grateful for the break from the social media for a week.  We actually set around and talked to each face to face and got to know each other better.  Caroline did not miss her cell phone at all.
Karen - Was impressed how no one got upset with Caroline and Zach when they forgot the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  They all shared what they had and it all worked out beautifully.
Hannah - She wanted to embark the life of Mary this week.  She wanted to be able to hear Jesus' voice while she was serving.
Bethany - She could speak the language and was able to talk to the children on a daily basis.  God connected her with a young lady Eli this week.  God used Bethany's gift of Spanish to reach out to many children and young people this week.
Evan - Was a quiet spirit with a beautiful smile.  I watched him do whatever it took for the team.  He did it in quiet but beautiful way.
Barry - Shared how he learned this week to never doubt yourself.  He got to see Nora and how Nora asked him how was his daughter.  These people never forget us.  They say the prayer for us and I in turn want to continuously pray for them.
Ryan - Shared how he did not wear a watch and he never worried about what time it was or got into a hurry.  He enjoyed being a true Honduran for the week.
Elliot - Shared how he watched and learn how to make the most of what we have and able to give so much more back to others.  God has given me so much and I need to give it  back.
Michael - His sister came five years ago and he shared how now he understands what all she was sharing about how beautiful the people and the county of Honduras is.

I was impressed this week by the young people who came to serve here in Honduras.  I learned so much from the young people.

"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:9

Beyond Blessed

Remember Pastor Bryan sharing the first of the week you will be more blessed than you will be a blessing.  Each day this team was blessed with a nice hot lunch provided by the church family.  We are grateful for this in more ways than one.  This group of young people could eat some groceries, just saying.  They ate this lunch as well as ate their sandwiches for a snack in the afternoon.  They would go home in the evening and clean up Rosa's delicious hot meals.  Rosa was well pleased to provide and make these young people happy.  She shared they are just like her grandson Carlito, who loves to eat and never gets full.  Thank you guys for making our Rosa a happy lady this week.  it was beautiful to see them sitting and eating with their Honduran brothers each day which is how we build the amazing relationships here in Honduras.  Yum Yum!!!

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Acts 2:42

First of four dedications of "House of God Baptist Church of Los Delicia

As the week was coming to an end the cow pasture was becoming a house God called the "House of God Baptist Church.  Team one of four teams had completed the task God had chosen for them to undertake.  They did it with joy as the 862 blocks went up.  It was time for the dedication. Before words were shared the team was intermingled with the Hondurans and without any practicing I ask them to please sing one of their praise songs for the people.  They looked at me and said okay Mrs. Ginger.  It was beautiful without any practicing at all.  It was ordained by God our Father.  Zach, Bethany and Erin say words of gratitude for allowing them to be apart of such a beautiful journey.  Pastor Bryan shared a small word of gratitude for allowing them to come and be a part of such a special project.  He presented Pastor Nelson with a bible and a key to the church when one day they will be able to put the doors in and lock up their church.  Pastor Nelson shared words of thankfulness to the North Americans for coming and helping make this pray come true.  Los Delicia has prayed for over an year for this to come to be.  Thank you First Baptist Southern Pines College group for making this happen.   Please stay tune in July for the continuation of this story.
God bless each of our readers and followers.

"Always give thanks  to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."

New Hope Baptist Church Meets Santos and Francisca

Our New Hope Baptist Church family arrived on May 7 without knowing how blessed they were going to be at the end of their week.  Santos, 72 years old and Francisca, 68 years old were able to show this team Jesus this week.  Santos shared how grateful he was to receive a home where they will be safe and dry during the rainy season.  He was grateful to the North Americans for coming and giving up their time away from jobs and families to bless his family. He has waited many years for a  home and God at the age of 72 years gave Santos his home.  God always answers our prayers and we are never to old to hear God speak to us.  Santos and Francisca are raising their three grandchildren, Brayan age 6, Yencis, age 3 and Eylin age 11.  There were many more children there who may call this home as well.  This elderly couple brought joy and hospitality through their kind words and their beautiful smiles.  God was definitely among us this week.  He used these two people to show us all Jesus.  Stay with me as you find out how many ways God showed us Jesus through these two people this week.

Genesis 21 reminds me of this couple.  At a very old age God gave Sarah a baby boy named Issac.

The Four Cornerstones

Orfilio, with help from Sarah, Christen, Don and Ken placed the four corners in place.  In Ephesians 2:19-22 it states that Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone.  In building this home we built a home where others will see the foundation of Jesus Christ in this family as they enter the door.  This corner of  Cedeno will radiate the beauty of the love of Jesus.  Hopefully in weeks to come people who stood back from afar to watch these 800 blocks and 50 bags of cement go up they will remember how Jesus Christ made all of this happen.  The team met the calling to come and they worked very hard but the real reason Santos and Francisca received this home is because of Jesus.  It states in Ephesians 2:19 that we are no longer foreigners and strangers but fellow citizens' with God's people and also members of His household.  Complete strangers from two different countries came together to do God's work.  All God's people said AMEN!!!

"Consequently you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens' with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.  In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22

Prepping for the first block

Many jobs take place before the first block is laid.  The team came together and moved blocks from one spot to another.  Several team members worked hard on sifting sand and making the mescla for the first block.  Santos was sweeping the area where the mescla will be mixed.  He worked diligently on this one little spot to make sure no trash would enter the mixture.
At a distance Sandra watched from a first timers eyes all the different activities taking place on this corner lot.  Sandra was in awe of how it was all coming together and everyone was working as one in Christ.  Sandra found shade and found comfort in Christ on her first day serving in Honduras.

"Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor.
If either of them falls down,
one cam help the other up."
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Santos and Francisca's first block

The time had come for the first block to be laid.  Pastor G assisted Santos in laying down his first block.  There was a softness in his eyes almost like a tear as well as for Francisca.  They were very humbled by this ceremony for their home.  Ken read from the scripture out of Ephesians about the chief cornerstone.  Everyone proceeded in touching someone who was touching Santos and Francisca.  Ken led the group in a prayer of dedication which would allow this home to be a home where others could seek refuge and see the love of Christ.  Thank you God for a beautiful way to start a beautiful week.  God is good all the time and all the time our God is good.

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone."
Ephesians 2:19-20

Act of Kindness

As I have shared there are many jobs do to each and every day.  But the most important job of all is the hydration specialist.  Thank you to Christen and Larry who when they got thirsty realized the Hondurans were thirsty too.  Thank you for taking the time from working to serve your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

"I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink."
Matthew 25:35b

The Home Gets Built

It is always amazing to me how in five days God can use many different people to get his job done.  There was eleven people on this team aging from 21 into their mid 70's. Some of them had never worked together before.  Each came with a Christ-like attitude and allowed the Holy Spirit to work through each of them to get their task done.  If we said it was easy we would be lying.  It was hard work in hot temperatures.  But the team worked together and took care of each other every day.  Matt shared how Sandra and Judy took care of him when he got too hot." Ron the team leader came not feeling well but was determined to come back to Honduras.  The team all took very good care of Ron and as each day came on Ron began feeling somewhat better.  Thank you God for Ron and his willingness to lead this team when not feeling one hundred percent.  He did it with a smile on his face and a great attitude.  The team was very grateful for their team leader.
Santos watched on as his roof and floor were going in.  Brayan was watching as the finishing touches were being done to the floor.  They were getting excited about receiving their new home.  The anticipation was  precious to watch.

"You also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."
I Peter 2:5

Time of Worship

The team gathered together on Mother's Day to worship the Lord.  Ken welcomed the mothers and ask them all to stand up and everyone applauded for all the mothers in the community.  There were mothers in church aging from 15 to 70 years old.  This is one day they truly recognize the mothers and give them all they deserve.  Afterwards Ken shared his testimony.  Proceeding Ken, Sarah shared her testimony and her life through trials has helped her grow closer to Christ.  It is beautiful to see the young people get up to share their walk with the Lord.  Afterwards the children came in to sing their song learned during Sunday School and to recite their bible verses they learned as well.  In Honduras the churches start the young people early with leadership responsibility  There was one young man who worked all week at the job site and Don shared the gospel with him and in return this young man shared his walk with the Lord with Don.  How beautiful are the hands and feet of Jesus at any age.  Thank you Don for reaching out to this young man and in return you were as blessed.

"Let us go into the house of the Lord."
Psalm 122:1

The Home Dedication

The time had come to present this home to the Lord.  Team leader, Ron, read scripture from John 14:1-6 about our Father's house has many rooms.  Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Just like our Father's house has many rooms which he has prepared for us he prepared this room this week for this precious family.  As I shared earlier this team learned so much from this lovely couple.  Ron thanked Santos and Francisca for their generosity, hospitality and kindness throughout the five days they were together.  Our team, Ron shared, has been humbled by all your acts of kindness bestowed upon the team this week.  We will forever store this week into our memories of sweet love for all of you.  You brought us the light of Jesus when we were to bring the light to you.  God has revealed to us all how precious all God's children are all over his world.  The Hondurans and North Americans laid their hands upon the house as Gorden said the prayer over the home.  Afterwards Sarah presented the family with a bible and Vanessa present the key.  As Santos unlocked his new home for the first time everyone applauded and shouted for joy.
Amen.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God, believe also in me.  My Father's house has many rooms, if that were not so would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going.
Thomas said to him, "Lord we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth,  and the life.  No one comes to the Father accept through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.  From now on you do know him and have seen him."
John 14:1-7

The Children

While the house was being built so were the relationships.  The team enjoyed the children most of all.  Sarah was found playing marbles with Brayan and Manuel many times.  Matt took time away from lunch to play one on one soccer with one of the neighboring boys.  Matt also made a special little friend who did not like him wearing his gloves because they were dirty.  They nicknamed her "No No".  The children with Maida's guidance were very respectful of the job site.  They stayed cleared of the construction but somehow found room to play with the North Americans.  Their angelic innocence  is breathtaking.  The children in Honduras love life.  They love being just kids.  We would watch them climbing the trees, chasing one another and taking care of one another.  Matt observed one day a little girl watching her little sister's feet and the placed her sandals on her feet.  Also one little girl got her bath put on her white dress, bent down, put spit on her hands and then wiped if off on her clean white dress.  After all this she shot her marble.  Children enjoy being children.  There was a couple of times the little boys were sifting sand for the team as the week was coming to an end.  They had moved the sifting sand for the floor to the street for easy access.  Three of the little fellows were sifting the sand for Jose.  They all wanted to play apart in this home being built.  Thank you God for the little children.  They are sometimes the bible we need to read.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14

God's provision from Santos and Francisca to New Hope Team

Each day New Hope Baptist Team humbly received a hot meal from Santos and Francisca.  The couple had been saving for months to provide the team a debt of thank you for their home.  Sometimes it is hard to receive such a lovely and blessed free gift.  The free gift of Jesus Christ is easy if we will only receive it and be His chosen ones.  We do not have to do anything to receive but receive it graciously and live it out in our daily lives.  Like the meals provided for the team this week, they were able to graciously receive each meal with an act of gratitude.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever will believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Three families come to serve

Welcome Vanessa and Sandra.  They are not twins even though everyone thought they were twins.  But they were connected very tightly all week.  You did not see one without the other.  Sandra has been living in California and came to North Carolina to be closer to Vanessa.  They spent there first week in Honduras serving the Lord side by side.  It was beautiful to watch them hand in hand doing everything together.

Ron was blessed to have with him this year his sister-in-law, Christine.  Christine came from another part of North Carolina to work beside Ron for the first time.  Ron has shared his love for Honduras with Christine in the past and she shared God called me to come and serve as well.

Sarah has come several times to Honduras but this year was a bit more special.  Sarah was able to bring her father, Don, with her.  Don shared one evening he was visiting a church  who were inviting people to come down to the altar to pick up the item from the altar that you will decide to do in the year 2014.  One was a small globe which represented going on a international mission trip.  Don felt God tugged at his heart and Don went down to the altar and picked up a small globe.  Don got back to his seat and said what am I going to do with this.  Sarah and Rachel said, "You are going to Honduras, Dad." So Honduras it was.  Don never regretted his decision to come and serve with Sarah.  On the last day when things were slowing down Sarah, Don and Maida went to visit one of the children's home, Manuel. They were talking with his mother about Jesus.  She shared she was a believer of Jesus Christ but she had one request.  She was very sick and ask for prayers.  Sarah said could she please pray with her now. Sarah prayed for God's healing hands to take care of Manuel's mother and her home.  Sarah shared much later this was her first time to pray with someone she did not know and she felt the Holy Spirit as she said the words God wanted her to say.

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15

Feliz Cumpleanos Sarita

Wow, Sarita got a true Honduran birthday party from her two friends, Sandra and Vanessa. The girls asked for three eggs.  Why three?  Well they included their new found friend Jose into the party festivities.  We called a team meeting after devotionals which really confused Mike.  We already had discussed the plans for the next day.  But he did it again. Well Sarah goes and sits at the corner of the table perfect spot for her surprise.  As Mike was sharing the details of the upcoming day I entered with her birthday cake and everyone started singing.  Vanessa, Sandra and Jose crashed three raw eggs over Sarah's head and as you can tell from the pictures Jose had way too much fun.  Sarah had the yellow yoke running down her face.  Jose notices this and takes off to get Sarah a towel to clean up with.  After a quick shower we enjoyed celebrating Sarah's 21st birthday with cake and ice cream.  Sarah shared she would not want to be anywhere else but in Honduras serving the Lord with family and friends.
Happy 21st Birthday Sarah!!!!

"For you created my inmost being,
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
your works are wonderful.
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth."
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be."
