Thank you nine year old Rachel who was led by God to collect school supplies for the children of Honduras. She has had a heart for Honduras since the first time Gregg, team leader from Floyd's Creek shared his story of Honduras. We had the privilege to speak at Floyd's Creek in December of 2012. I did the children's sermon while Mike shared our love for Honduras. After worship Rachel came through the line to speak to Mike and me. She asked me what could she do for the children of Honduras. I remember speaking with her so well as if it was yesterday. The excitement and enthusiasm which radiated from this nine year old young lady was contagious. Her emotions did my heart good and had me missing our friends in Honduras on the front steps of Floyd's Creek that blistery winter morning. I shared with Rachel how school starts in February and ends in November. School supplies would be an awesome project for her and give her plenty of time to collect her school supplies before the team came in July. Rachel went to Pastor Robert and shared with him how she had made a collection container for the school supplies. Pastor Robert announced in church one Sunday and the collecting began. Rachel was able to collect and put together 52 school supply bags for the children in Choluteca, Honduras. One evening she and her friends organized an assembly line and put the supplies into a quart size bag. The school supplies have been delivered to a nearby community for the children to finish out their school year. Thank you once again Rachel for your heart for missions and especially for the children of Honduras. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come unto me and do not hinder them , for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14
