Leads by example

 

 

 

Pastor Brian Lockamy leads by example.  He prepares the team throughout the year to come to Honduras to serve the Lord.  Some of his guidelines and preparations for this trip are intense.  But these young people come on board willing and ready to take on the challenge.  There is not any outside communication with home accept one phone call to let their families know they have arrived.  I asked Brennan how he did all week without his technology, etc.  He said I have come accustomed to Pastor Brian's technique and it works fine for me.  The group interacted with one another and played games in the evening.  They enjoyed sharing and laughing with one another.  He requires the entire to team to read their manual and be prepared to answer any questions thrown their way.  The team is required to write a personal testimony and be prepared to share at a minutes notice.  Pastor Brian challenges these young people physically and spiritually to prepare them for this mission trip.  Also, on their last night together he shared how their testimony they wrote before arriving had now changed.  They needed to sat down before going to bed and re-write their testimony.  Because after such an amazing week they now had a new testimony. 

As well as all his guidelines, Pastor Brian got on the job site daily working on whatever needed to get done.  His young people took good care of his physical being.  They watched over him as he worked along side of them.  The relationship he has with these young people is one he has earned because of his Christian example.  He does not require anything of them he does not do himself.  Thank you Pastor Brian for leading such an awesome group of young people.  Their hard work throughout the year by your example was evident this past week.  To God be the glory for all things this week.
