Well before any home dedication there has to be a big pot of chicken soup. I want to thank our dear sweet Katie who got way out of her comfort zone to help prepare the chicken the day before for this big feast on dedication day. The families gave five chickens for this celebration of Gloria's new home. The ladies were all wearing their new aprons to finish cooking and serving the chicken soup. As we are all sitting around chatting Pastor Pedro pulls out his guitar and strums some Christian music for us while we wait for our lunch. Words cannot describe the beauty of this day and how everyone shared and broke bread together.
This moment of our project is always bittersweet. We gathered around to dedicate the home. Pastor John led the dedication with opening with prayer. He proceeded to thank everyone for allowing his team to serve along side of them this week to build Gloria's home. He then turned it over to Pastor Carlos and Pastor Pedro to share a few words. I remember one sentence in Pastor Pedro's as I looked over at Carol and smile. He was formed in his mother's womb, Psalm 139 which what Carol spoke on in the Women's Conference earlier that morning. God is so good. Also Pastor Pedro always shares he is content with this day. Are you content today with whatever is before you rather it be good or bad. I pray you are content in the Lord for He is good. Gloria stepped forward and thank each and every person who made this possible for her today. She shared with tears in her eyes her gratitude for her new home. Pastor John proceeded to give the bible and we prayed over the house which is now a home for Gloria and her five children. After the prayer Pastor John gave her the key to her home. Thank you God for another beautiful week in Honduras.
"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
