The morning of rest started out at 7:00 am when I came out the front door of the missionary house and heard laughter coming from the back porch of the multi-purpose building. So I walked through the path from the missionary to the multi-purpose building finding Senovia, our staff member, Andie, Heather and Amanda making the tortillas for breakfast. As I entered into the kitchen area there was Sherman, Steve, Darrell, Dylon and Dana cooking the rest of the breakfast. They had scrambled eggs, bacon and tortillas with watermelon. I pulled out the balleada shells and refried beans for us Hondurans to have a balleada for breakfast. Then I saw some of my North American friends making them one as well. Our friends this week loved the Honduran cuisine and shared how we needed to make a cook book with all these recipes in it. Actually we are working on this as I type. But we are truly on Honduran time with this one. But one day there will be a cook book to enjoy of all the delicious foods we eat here weekly.
There was a workday if you choose to do so. Mike had some folks working in the bodega trying to get it organized. There are some before and after pictures of this large under taking. But thank you to all who help Mike get the materials in order for the next construction team coming on board. There was also a time of relecting and resting on the front porch of the multi-purpose building while breakfast was being prepared. This was a great day with a lot of different things going on all around. There was a concrete curve going in on the road to get us ready for rainy season which hopefully will be very soon. There was some of our friends who enjoying reading a good book and resting. This was your day of choice and everyone seemed to find something to do. Some were working on their devotional that evening. Mike and I ask the team to reflect back on their week and see where they saw God working in their lives. Also some got brave to climb up to the Prayer Rock and enjoy the view and the sunset was watched from the smaller rock across from the pulperia. I love Mt. Horeb.
