Hola Por Pastor G

On May 15, 2010 God truly blessed North Carolina Baptist Men with a Honduran pastor named "Pastor G". He has a family of six daughters and a beautiful wife named Iris. His home is in Santa Cruz, Morcovia. On the outskirts of Choluteca. He is a pastor of a church which is 35 years old, Filadelfia Baptist Church. He has a mentor program where he disciples several men to go out and spread the gospel. He has also started a sister church in another village. We just recently found out that he is attending seminary in Tegus to further his learning in the ministry. Pastor G is a most talented man and he exhibits all his gifts in his life on a daily basis. Humble is the best adjective to describe Pastor G. He always gives God the glory for every detail of anything. Unbelievable how he is able to work with his church family and how his community comes together to share the gospel in whatever way is needed. We enjoy going to his home and visit when there is not any work so we can just have some good old fellowship. His wife and daughters are always welcoming us with cold drink, coke or fresca and a pack of saltine crackers. We sit in his living room and share about all God is doing in our lives and how God is good all the time. We learn so much from Pastor G and his wisdom of God's word. He is truly a servant of God and it shows in how his family works together to make all things come together so he can do all the does for them and for others. He is very giving individual but others give to him as well. Once we dropped by and several of his disciples were helping him clean out the Sunday School classrooms. They are always busy doing something to better the kingdom of God. Whether it be cleaning up around the church or going out to visit others. Pastor G and four of his men helped put a new roof on one of the buildings at the hospital. They did this for their community. Total giving of themselves. Pastor G has discipled them to help others in their daily lives.

Oh this is just some of the things he does. He also works for North Carolina Baptist Men. We have been blessed to have him on staff with us. He is our Construction Team Leader and carries his title with humbleness and dignity. He is beyond patient with all of us Americans. He always comes to the mission house on the first day of construction to meet the team and have prayer with them for they head out to the job site. Once we get to the job we pray with the family and Honduran workers and then we pray over the first block that is laid on the foundation. He works to set the corners up and then off the team goes to build the home. He walks around and helps new team members learn how to lay blocks. He leaves them alone and then checks on them to see how they are coming. You never hear him raise his voice. If he would say anything it is "NO PROBLEM". It has become a joke with us NO PROBLEM. There is nothing out there that is not eternal. He helps us to see why we are there not how we build the house but how we build relationships with each other. There is no mistakes that cannot be fixed. He assists the teams in the construction of the homes and enjoys laughter and good old fellowship. And yes he is not bilingual. He speaks very little English but we have learned when we are working for the Lord there is no language barrier. North Carolina Baptist Men are very blessed to have Pastor G has part of their family. Thank you Pastor G for all you do to help us serve our Lord here in Honduras.
