Worship Service

The worship service started with the singing of a familiar hymn, "The King is Coming".  The pastor got up and shared how grateful the community was to have the team come and build Rafael and his family a home.  He also shared how we worship with the same hymns but just a different language.  Ginger read from Psalm 133 along side of a Honduran brother who read it in Spanish.
The North Americans got up there and did an amazing job of singing "Sanctuary", "Jesus Loves the Little Children" and "Hallelujah".  The team had the congregation joined them in "Hallelujah" as they all sang this one together.
Tom got up and sang "Amazing Grace" in English and Spanish.  The offering was taken up while the children got up to sing a song.  Afterwards the children went and had Sunday School under the trees behind the church.
Team leader, Steve presented the message coming from the books of Psalm 103:8-22 and Romans 5:6-8.  Steve starts out by sharing he is a sinner saved by grace.  I speak as one of you today.  We worship the same God who restores us and lifts us up.  We will worship the God who always lifts us up.  Jesus died for the ungodly.  As we worship today there are other out in Cedeno, Choluteca, Honduras, and the United States who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We have a mission field all around us here and back home.  Jesus died for us so we could know HIM and share HIM with others who do not know HIM. What separates us from people who do not know Jesus is not that we are better than them or more righteous than them we know the true joy.  So we as Christians need to go out and share this true joy with others. We need to be different so others will ask where does this joy come from in our lives.  We need to be ready to share where our joy comes from.  We should know spontaneously where our joy comes from.  When I get to heaven I will not need Meida to translate for me because it will be the language of love.  To love others is to see them through God's eyes.  We all need to pray daily for our sins.  We need to surrender to HIS love, embrace HIS love, acknowledge HIS love and accept HIS love.  Today if you are reading this and do not know this joy our brother, Steve, is referring to I pray you will ask for the greatest gift of all in this  life, Jesus Christ.  Jesus died for you and me, all sinners, on a brutal vertical painful cross.  He loved us so much He gave HIS life for you and me.  It is your choice today to live out eternity with our Father in Heaven or the eternal fire of Hell.  I pray you will choose Jesus and live out the true joy here on earth and one day for all eternity in Heaven.

Psalm 103

1Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.

Romans 5:6-8
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
