The team came together on the afternoon of the fourth day and the morning of the fifth to put the roof up and the floor down. Sand was sifted and sand was pounded. Tin was carried and tin was placed side by side to make the home secure. Thank you to Mike and Barry who graciously got up and put the roof on with the help of Alexis and Pastor Carlos.
Thank you for all the young people who got the floor in place and completed. But this should have been a easy task for some of them, since they put the entire floor down in the dorm last year. Everyone worked hard as a team to finish up Marie's home. They sat back on the fifth night of the project and shared how it seem so surreal to have built someone a home. Caleb shared as the last mixture went in it hit him, "We built Marie a home." Chris shared that one day this week while eating his lunch we are providing a family a home through the love of Jesus. Peyton shared how Pastor Carlos helped us fix a problem on the wall and how encouraging Brenda was to each of us. In the words of the Hondurans, "No Problem". Kaitlyn shared how everyone worked together even when it got so hot we kept on serving God. Rachel shared one evening how she was complaining about being hot and she said to herself I cannot do this. God sends us a huge breeze and Rachel says I can do this through God who gives me my strength.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
