There are many more jobs than these three above. But the most important job on any given project is the hydration specialists. These ladies took their job seriously and they all took turns daily carrying out this job. They delivered water or Gatorade first before serving themselves. Greer set the presence on the first day and was my God moment as she went out on the project with her cups of water serving her new found friends, the Hondurans. The rest of the week the ladies continued this ritual and helped each other out.
Pastor Bryan's job each year is the block cutting. He had a lot of help this year getting set up. This is a hot tiring job but it has to get done. The first day is the most time consuming for the block cutter because there are so many that are needed for the afternoon and following morning. Then Pastor Bryan gets blessed with special orders throughout the rest of the week. He does it with grace and mercy and a smile on his face.
Caleb and Chris got up each morning with willing hearts loading the truck with the necessary materials needed for that particular day. In the evening when they returned they took off the items brought back from the projects. There strong backs helped Mr. Mike get this important job done each and every day.
Greer's devotional later in the week was called "Being Called to be Servants". How appropriate as she exemplified this in her actions as well as in her words this week. She read from Philippians 2:3, 6-8. We are called to be servants and followers of Jesus Christ. It is not a religion. As she closed in prayer she read Ephesians 3:17-18
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
