God blessed us so much on the last day before this team left us. We got a baseball game up with our Honduran friends. Edwin, the welder from Pavana, Alexis and his two daughters, Kevin and Jose came out to join us on the baseball field. Manual got up early that morning to cut the grass and remove as many rocks as possible and painted a white line around the base line. The team captains were Manual and Wuilmer. Rudy was the one who went outside the fence to collect the home run balls. Actually there was two, by our elderly team members, Pastor Bryan and Mike. Job well done gentlemen. Jose and Kevin had not ever touched a baseball or a bat. The first time up Jose hit a line drive by third base and got on second. Kevin was a natural who hit it and ran like a road runner around the bases. Manual got a double and made it to home plate. Mr. Mike pitched for one team and somehow picked up a piece of fruit instead of a baseball and pitched it to Caleb who hit it and it burst in mid air. Mr. Mike had been wanting to do this a very long time. It took Mr. Mike a while to gather himself before he could actually pitch the real ball. The chaperones on the team all had problems around second base. I feel there may need to be some more repair work done on the field. I believe Katy found problems on second base as well. We enjoyed watching Edwin's wife Alba watch her husband having fun. Jose, Rudy, Lassie and Oso were our cheerleaders. Edwin said the score was 21-7 I believe. After the game each team lined up and shouted "Good Job"," Muy Bien" We had so much fun and words cannot describe how awesome this afternoon was with our friends here in Honduras. We all got a treat from the Pulperia de Mt. Horeb after the game. The two team set around talking about the game and laughing about all the mishaps which took place along the way. At the end of the day there was a group picture of both teams. Thank you God to a great ending to a great week with our young people.
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
