Over the next five days these 800 blocks form in to a beautiful dwelling for Gorge, Sonja and Nichol. Each team member worked diligently on their task at hand. They sifted the sand and carried it down the hill to the project site. They worked ever so hard to make the seams perfect all away around this home. They laid block after block, course after course as the walls begin to form into a home. Mike and Sam stepped out of their comfort zone to get up on the roof to put the roof in place. Each person on this team worked as a team for the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you Betty Lynn, Ashley, team leader, Alan, Chuck, Steve, OW, Sam, Darryl, Jason, Mike, Bennie and Drew for coming down to Honduras and working and sweating all in the name of Jesus.
As the week progressed one of Gorge's friends, Nelson worked on building them back steps for their home. Nelson took such pain and effort in building these three steps as if he was doing this for himself. He took such pride in his work because he was doing it for his dear friend Gorge but more so he was building the steps in the name of Jesus Christ.
Gorge, Ezekiel, Jacob, Fernando and others mixed mortar the entire week. They enjoyed laughter while laboring over the cement and water being mixed over those five days. These Honduran brothers worked hard for their friend Gorge. Several times the team mentioned what a bond of family and community this church family has. They do not have to be blood family but to be there as brothers and sisters in Christ is one beautiful sight. To God be the glory from what we always learn from our brothers and sisters here in Honduras.
"But he answered and said unto him that told him,
Who is my mother and who is my brother?
He stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said,
Behold my mother and brother,
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, my sister and my mother"
Matthew 1:48-50
