Women's Conference

 

On the last day Emily, team member, had a Women's Conference under the trees on the church property.  Over thirty ladies arrived to hear the word of God from Emily. Emily put a lot of hard work in preparing for this day.  She had printed out Christian music in Spanish for the ladies to sing with.  One of her favorite songs was Jesus is our Rock.  They all sang together in Spanish as the roof was going up.  There were many other songs sung this beautiful morning in Porvenir.  Emily shared with the ladies how special they were in God's eyes.  The ladies were asked to look to the lady to their right I believe and tell them they are special in the eyes of God.  This was difficult for them to do but they got through it.  It is hard to accept the fact we are special in the eyes of God.  We are imperfect with all our sinfulness.  God still loves us as His children if we have received His Son as our Savior.  What a load to carry when we do not know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  Emily one evening in the mission house was constructing a cross.  She had taken some sticks from the community back to the mission house and she put together a cross.  As one of the final activities of the day Emily ask each lady to write their burdens on a piece of paper and then carry it to the cross. She gave them a match to burn their sins and let them go and leave them at the foot of the cross.  Thank you Emily for allowing God to use you in a mighty way this week.  During this conference three women came to the Lord. All God's people shouted "AMEN"
