Dr. Terry, Kat and Amanda with help from Justin and Andrew got busy in the sanctuary of the church setting up their stations in preparation for their first patient. This was a great location for a medical clinic. The sanctuary had a dividing wall to separate the building in half. So the back side where the stage is located was the setting for Dr. Terry to see his patients. Amanda and Kat, med students were right next to Dr. Terry getting their station set up to see their first patient of the day. As the morning progressed so was Dr. Terry, Kat and Amanda. They were ready to go within an hour.
Meanwhile right outside the door of the sanctuary there was the Physcial Therapy Team setting up their station. Holly, instructor and two students, Andrew and Justin worked busily to get ready for their first patient of the day. They had the coolest room in the entire medical clinic, literally the coolest. If anyone needed to cool down or find a quiet spot they headed to Physical Therapy Room. They were always welcoming their guest with a joyous smile. This trio was an amazing team.
As you make your way out of the Physical Therapy Room and go down the breezeway to the very last room there was numerous pharmacist students busy at work. They were unboxing and putting shelving together. Everyone was busy at work. Once the pharmacy was set up they got busy counting pills and getting ready for their first patient and giving them a little something to help them to feel much better. They were dispersing worm medicine and vitamins to everyone. They tried to meet the most crucial need of each patient and throughout the week they all did an amazing job.
Sandwiched in between the Physical Therapy Suite and the Pharmacy was our precious Honduran Dr.Brenda and Dr. David. We were very blessed to have Dr. Brenda this week with her wealth of knowledge about her people and how to better meet their needs. We were also blessed to have Dr. David who needed to practice his medical skills this week and his father Ramon asked could we use him please. So Mike and I agreed to let him come and practice his medical skills and learn from Dr. Brenda as well. He shared at lunch one day after many years of practice like Dr. Brenda I hope to have a wealth of knowledge to give to my patients. What a humble young man who is willing to learn all he can from others which is so similar to our Medical, Pharmacy and Physical Therapy students were doing this week as well.
