A Yearly Tradition

Each year team member John gets to come back to Choluteca, Honduras he takes on his own personal project.  He wanders off looking for just the right piece of wood.  I found him bent down working on the wood pieces ever so diligently.  John was taking his time and going through a lot of effort to make his project complete in every way.  As he completed his project he stood up and started walking towards an area above the work site.  John proceeded to hammer a cross he can constructed from two pieces of wood.  This is our reminder we are here this week serving a living Savior who died on the cross but then arose on the third day for all of us.  It was a reminder of who we serve, Jesus Christ, who gave his life on the cross for each and everyone of our sins.  Thank you John for a sweet and tender reminder of who we serve.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
I Corinthians 1:18
