God blessed us this week with an amazing experience with a eighty seven year old young man named Domingo Sanchez and his lovely younger wife Marie. The team loaded up the Kia, Gatorade and Water coolers and definitely covered their beginning of a life changing experience with prayer as they prepared their hearts to go to Colonia Unidas where Pastor Carlos also preaches there several nights of the week. Pastor Larry was very grateful to arrive to the job site to see most of the blocks inside the foundation of the house which in fives days will become a home for these lovely people. Domingo arrived to his property on the back of a motorcyle. One of his daughters met him and walked him over to the hammock where he sat all week watching those eight hundred blocks turn into a home. Grateful for our Meida who does so well with the elderly people in her country. Thank you God for choosing this team to come here and receive more blessings than they ever thought possible. One day while Garrett and Brian rode with us he shared how he never would have imagined such the experience as this past week as played in his life. "I am forever grateful I was chosen to be here at this time and this place."
Dallas' devotional on the first evening after the first day on project touched a lot on what Garrett's comment was about. Dallas shared from Matthew 19:16-22 about the Rich Young Ruler. How do we view God? How we address Jesus is how we view him as believers. Garrett worked through the eyes of Jesus this week and not through the eyes of man. Garrett saw Jesus through Domingo and his wife Maria. Garrett found the joy Dallas shared about by being at the center of God's will this week. Dallas challenged his team to make time for God this week and by doing so saw this project as more than a house being built but Jesus being present in all the details. God is so good!!!!!
