Honduran Cuisine

Each day in Patty's kitchen the ladies prepared delicious meals.  Karen, Cindy's aunt helped everyday cooked up the meals.  First day was chicken and rice, second day was Honduran spaghetti, there is not any hamburger in their spaghetti, third day there was delicious chicken and rice mixture cooked differently from the first day chicken and rice and last but not least was fried fish and fried green bananas and chismo.  As you can see in the pictures the two roof men were coming to check out what was for lunch.  The fried green bananas called tajadeas are so good when they are fresh and hot.  So Mike and Pastor Carlos said they wanted to test them to make sure they were okay to eat for lunch.  It was definitely all about the presentation of the plates as well.  These ladies know how to cook good food.  I do not know one Honduran lady who cannot cook.  As I sat there on the last day watching all the work it went into the fish meal I was humbled at all the mac and cheeses, breads and soups it took to build this home.  It seems it does not matter what nationality you are food is a better important part of survival.  These gentlemen worked hard all morning for this meal.  Because there was a few who were working for the meal and not for pay.  So Mrs. Barbara's cooking and the Honduran ladies cooking was able to get this house completed and right on time.  God is so good!!!!!
