This School Needs A lot of Love

We arrived at the school to twenty five plus men an young boys working hard on several different projects.  For those of you who are reading this and are or was in the education system this would have been your worst nightmare.  The classrooms were demolished from them tearing the old roof down preparing to put on the new roof later in the week.  There was not much are taken inside the classrooms because of the debris and wood falling from above.  Also there was a ditch in the front of the property getting it prepared for the fence line to go up all the way around the school property.  The man in charge of this project besides Pastor Carlos was
O'Neal who I found out that morning is also the Mayor of the community.  Since O'Neal came to work with us and assisted on building two homes this month I saw he had the gift of leadership and it definitely showed these two weeks as well.

I continued exploring to find more devastation in the two classrooms.  I can only imagine what the two teachers of this school would think if they saw this huge mess.  But there was another concern as well, there is not a roof on this structure for at least three days and I was praying it would not rain.  We got home on the second day of this project to an evening of a huge thunderstorm.  Mike and I both said all that was inside those classrooms will be ruined because of the rain.  But Pastor Carlos told the men of the community to take the school materials and put them in the storage building on the property just in case it would rain before the roof got put on.  Praise God the books and materials were protected but not so much for the wooden desks.  All the wall decorations, bulletin boards were destroyed but the books were saved.
