Football, Worship and a Beautiful Sunset

Chuck decided to start up a game of football with a few of our friends.  As the evening was drawing to a close God presented us with the most amazing sunset to finish off our week.  God's beauty is so breathtaking and serene off the porch of the multi purpose building and the rock outside the gate of the campus.  This picture does not even do God's masterpiece justice.  There were several folks who took advantage of this time to be still and enjoy the beauty which was all around them daily.  Back home they share they get too busy and miss out on the simpler things in life which is God's beauty of His Creation.  I encourage all reading this take time to watch a sunset.  It will worth your while.
We are always blessed with Orin to bring God's Word on these medical teams.  We save Orin for the last evening.  He is our devotional and God moment.  Orin has the gift of sharing God's Word in a way of amazement and brings God's Word to life.  You can visualize the scene in the Bible because of Orin's detail and presentation. Orin pulled from several bible references, Joshua 24:14-16, John :1-9 and Mark 6:30-44.  The title of his lesson was "Step Up".  He shared how modern western Christians are passive Christians.  Disciples dropped everything to follow Jesus.  Everything they dropped to follow Jesus.  They stepped up and followed Jesus.  After they started following Jesus on His journey of healing many people there was a multitude who wanted to hear more about Jesus.  Well the disciples were tired and hungry.  They asked Jesus to let's see them on their way so we do not have to take care of their needs.  Their excuses, "we are tired of helping others"," we are hungry and ready to rest ourselves", "we are tired of sharing with others" and many other excuses.  But Jesus was not through serving others.  Jesus taught the disciples many things.  One thing it is not about them.  The 5000 were not on the disciples agenda.  But they obviously were on Jesus agenda.  Jesus continue helping others.  The disciples' hearts were not right.  They had a heart condition problem which Jesus tried to teach them to "Step Up" and serve others.  Jesus told them "FEED THEM - YOU NEED TO STEP UP"  This means Jesus will provide the need if we step up to do it.  It is the Spirit of the Will.  We as Christians like the disciples need to have a Kingdom minded agenda.  We need to go and see where the need is.  We need to go and get busy.  We need to go and see what we can find to do for others, we need to STEP UP.  We need to exercise our faith by being obedient.  Our faith increases when we  "STEP UP" for Jesus.
