Home Dedication

The home dedication started by team leader, Steven, thanking them for allowing the team to work beside them this past week.  He shared how we were all blessed by your generosity, your kindness and your hospitality.  Your community set a great example of what community should be for us all.  Steven asked his team did they have anything they wanted to share at this time.  Melanie spoke up and shared how blessed she was to be apart of something so very special as helping Marvin and Marixa a home.  How in five days those blocks and mortar were now a beautiful home where we all came together as one to build.  Melanie also elaborated on their hospitality and how grateful she was for each one of them.  Robert shared how here on this earth we are all one in Christ, unified in the Spirit even with our language barrier.  But one day our language barrier will not matter when we all get to Heaven there will be only one language!  At this time Steven asked Marvin and Marixa did they have anything to share.  Marvin immediately said no.  But Marixa started with tears running down her cheeks her gratitude to all of us for allowing this week to come together. There was not many dry eyes. But it was all tears of joy and bittersweet of this special week was now coming to an end.  She told the team they will have a huge place in her heart and she was going to pray for them and their families forever.  I promise you she will do just that.  The Honduran people are forever grateful for what is done for them and they pray so much for their friends in North America.  What a testimony for all of us to continue praying without ceasing for one another. At this time Pastor Zach opened it up with prayer. After Pastor Zach completed the opening prayer, Charlie stepped up to share some scripture from God's Word about "Love Thy Neighbor" which seems to have been a theme for this team this week. He read from 1 John 4:7-12, 19-21 and Philippians 1:3-6.  He also shared how he felt loved and by his neighbors this week in Las Cabasas Provenir.  He felt the love of Jesus all around him and how his life was forever blessed with all his new friends in Christ.

Steven presented the Bible to the family and shared how the foundation was built strong for their home and it will uphold everything.  But this book, the Bible is your family's foundation and he encouraged them to read it together daily as a family.  Now Marvin has accepted Christ he was encouraged by Steven and Pastor Zach to read God's Word to his family daily and be the leader of his home, his Christian home.  Everyone gathered around the home to lay hands of the home as Robert prayed a powerful prayer of blessings on this family and how this family's home can be a beacon in their community and share the gospel from this home with whoever comes to visit.  Mrs. Nancy presented Marvin with the key to his home and hugged Marixa really big with God's love.

Everyone clapped as Marvin unlocked the key to his new home.  Marixa still crying tears of joy entered her new home with her husband and two children.  As they entered and stood there she invited all of us to come in and visit.  Melanie had asked Glenda if she would sing with Joy and Happiness for everyone.  Also the team sang "Amazing Grace" We had a time of worshiping and praising in the Lord in Marvin and Marixa's new home.  There was around twenty five of us in her new home celebrating!!!!

Ms. Aladia, the pillar of her community, whose house was the first one built out there nine years ago, was giving Marixa some godly advice with lots of years of wisdom behind it all.  Any of you who are reading this right now and have been to Las Cabasas knows how very special this lady of 80 plus years truly is.  She radiates the love of Jesus just with her smile.  Everyone in the community looks up to her and respect us so much.  After more singing Glenda wanted to speak for a minute.  She wanted to send a special thank you to Mrs. Nancy, Michelle, Kyle and Keeley, Meida, Joel and Dr. Sarah for providing her community with health care this week.  More tears came of gratitude and joy.  This was a beautiful week serving our Lord beside our Honduran family and friends.
