Each evening the team gathered in the multipurpose building to break bread or must I say tortillas and to share in God's word. This facility has been a huge blessing for each one of us who has gotten to experience it. Our menu has changed a little since we open the doors in February. We have added chop suey to the menu. This team experimented with the chop suey and we cleaned it out except for maybe two servings. So look out for some Honduran chop suey if you are coming this way.
The lady who cooks for us, Sevenoiva, her husband provided us with four lizard for a delicious pot of Lizard Soup. This is made only by request or an interest in trying something new. Like everything else it tasted like chicken soup. This is a very special treat to receive this as a meal here in Honduras. Thank you Edwin who donated the meat for this delicious meal. Buen Provecho!!!! In English "Enjoy your meal!!!"
Then after cleaning the kitchen from dinner the team gathers together for a time of spiritual food. We share in a devotional someone on the team prepares daily or in advance before their arrival to Honduras. We share our God moments. Where did we see God today? This is my favorite part of the day seeing how God works in everyone's lives and how He reveals Himself maybe through laying a block or playing soccer with the children or eating a tasty meal provided by our Honduran sisters in Christ. God is all around us we just need to be open to see Him at work.
Thank you God for all your many blessings.
On the last morning before leaving Honduras the men on the team cooks up a big breakfast, similar to a North Carolina Baptist Men breakfast. Everyone enjoyed their eggs, grits, pancakes, bacon and tortillas together as a family one more time.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
