We want to introduce a brother and sister team, Christian and Paige. This is their first time to Honduras. They came prepare to serve the Lord and this is exactly what they did. They worked side by side and separately which ever was needed. Back at Mt. Horeb they sat together and shared thoughts together. They exemplify what it means to be true brother and sister in Christ. Both by birth and by the blood of Jesus. Paige asked on one evening if she could have the names of everyone on staff and of the home and the name of the church they worshiped in so when she prays she can call them by their name. Christian shared how in awe he was of how much joy and love comes from everyone family or friend. This was actually what I saw in these two beautiful young people as they served all week in Los Llanitos.
Another precious family coming here for the first time, Cathy and her beautiful daughter, Kara. They came with willing hearts to do what God had planned for them to do. Kara shared in a devotional one evening she really did not know what to expect and was a little anxious about coming. But God revealed to her in His Word out of Philippians 3:20-21 that He had everything under control. Kara thanked God for reminding her who was in control. The ladies worked side by side all week and enjoyed serving the Lord and was willing always to do whatever it took to get the job completed. They enjoyed eating the delicious fruit grown here in Honduras daily. Thank you Cathy for playing baseball with all those young people, job well done
We would like to welcome and say thank you to another beautiful family who accepted God's calling to come to Honduras to serve beside us. Welcome to Judy and lovely daughter, Kristine. They worked hard for the Lord with also a very willing spirit. Their service heart radiated all around them. They worked together and separate as well. Kristine shared one evening how we are all equal in the eyes of God. We simply speak a different language. Kristine open her eyes during the dedication prayer to ask Kevin not to talk and saw his mother praying diligently to God for her gratitude of her new home. How humbling this was for Kristine to see how grateful our new homeowner was to God for her home. Thank you Judy for playing baseball with the young people, job well done.
Last but surely not least another special brother/sister team. We would like to welcome another first time team, Caleb and his baby sister Caroline. These two were amazing first of all for their love for each other as siblings and then for the love they overflowed towards others. Their love for Jesus was obvious as they worked together and separately on the home for our special little family. There time during devotions was spot on. Caleb shared out of Galatians 6:7,8-9 about the joy in saw in the people of the community. He shared he wish we could have this joy back home, genuine Christian joy. Caroline shared it was God's will that I am here this week and I need to thank Him for allowing me this privilege to come here and serve Him in such a mighty way. We should always thank HIM for all things.
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15
