Everyone worked collectively but not collectively. They saw a need and went to help a friend, whether it was North American or Honduran. Everyone was there for each other. They took turns sifting the sand, mixing the mescal or wetting down the foundation preparing for the first block. Petronia, the grandmother and mother to all this folks was sweeping up the area for the mescal to be mixed. It was a total group effort. It is truly amazing all the work it takes to lay the very first block of 1300. But after about an hour of diligent work the first block was about ready to be placed on the foundation.
