The Living Water

The Honduran culture is simply amazing to me.  Right before my very eyes I watch Patty get her water for the week from the road up to her pilla.  How this gentleman did this well you just simply had to be here folks to take all of this in.  This water which was pumped in from the what looks like a gas truck is a water truck here in Honduras about thirty minutes and cost Patty $15.00 and this water has to last her all week.  Patty uses this water this week especially for the mescal to be mixed to go into Rudy and Cindy's home.  It is also used to flush her outside outhouse.  It is used to cook the food with and to wash all their dishes and for them to take a bath as well.  They truly need to be very careful how they use this water each week.  I noticed upon arrival that day the pilla was getting very low.  A pilla is a concrete like cistern that is outside most of the time near the woodstove where they cook their meals.  She filled every bucket sitting empty to make sure she had enough to finish the floor in the house on the last day.   Their drinking water they have to buy as well which is different.  They come in little small plastic bags for about five cents each.  I encourage you today to thank God for your clean water and your septic system at each of your homes.
