We gathered in church with people we had just met the day before but strangely enough they all treated us like family. They all welcomed us with hugs and hand shakes. Meida and a young lady who is a member of the church gathered together to share the day of service and how it would flow. This would be our church bulletin for those who do not know. As the service progressed after singing several hymns "Shout to the Lord" and "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus". Abby was asked to read the morning scripturew out of Psalm 133. Taylor and Logan sang "There is Sunshine in My Soul Today". The group learned "Open My Eyes" and sang it in Spanish, yes the entire song was song in Spanish. Great job God.
As the service progressed the children went off to Sunday School while the adults stay behind to hear from God's Word shared by one of our young people, Mason. Mason had shared last year prior to leaving I want to preach next year and today was his day to share the gospel. He shared how he had grew up in church and believed in Christ as His Lord and Savior. But he was always afraid to make it public because of what his peers may think of him. At the age of fourteen he gave up all his fears and gave his life publicly to Jesus Christ. He shared how he was growing daily in the Lord. Mason shared how God used him today to share His Word because without the power of the Holy Spirit it would be impossible. Although he is growing in the Lord, he shared there are many obstacles along the way, Satan is very busy and waiting to tear us all down. He used scripture out of Matthew 13:44-46 "Hidden Pearls". Heaven is a treasure given to us by God. The man sold all he had for the pearl. The pearl is our love from Christ. This love He sacrificed for all of us. Out of Matthew 13:47-50 heaven is like a net.. God collects the good fish and throws away the bad ones. This is how it will be in the end times. God has a place for us in His Kingdom if we chose to follow Him, this would be eternity. We do have moments when we stray away from God like the Lost Sheep out of Matthew 18:10-14. We are all the lost sheep in the parable. Temptation has been apart of us at some time or another. We are sinners saved by grace. But praise God, He will bring us back into His most Holy Presence if we so allow Him too. Please do not ever give up God does not give up on us. After Mason got finished, Brian shared a few words of gratitude for having us in their church today. We all have different languages but serve the same God. He shared our only way to eternal life is through Jesus Christ and that is our only way to Heaven through the blood of Jesus Christ. As Mason shared out of John 3:16 "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son and that whosever believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Amen!!!!
As always we are humbled by the generosity and kindness the Honduran people show to us. After church the children were given a bag of chips and water bag. They were passing them out to the children first and then came along and gave us each a bag of water. This is a community who may get one meal a day. Yet they shared what they had at the moment with us. They do not know what tomorrow will hold for them but they gave their all today. What a Christian example for all of us.
So we gathered outside the church and got acquainted with our new friends hoping to see them on Monday. We did not know what the next day will hold. We just left church filling blessed and full of joy as we were slowly getting to do what we came to do love on these beautiful people. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
