Daily Prayer and Devotionals

Each morning and evening a team member shared God's Word and were in charge of praying for the day.  What a beautiful way to start our day and end our day.  Do we all do this back at home?  Start in God's Word, pray several times during the day and end the day in God's Word.  What a challenge for all of us to give our time to the Lord more than just when we need him.  Some words of the day were joy, love, compassion and unity in the Lord.  Carol shared the first morning the challenge for the team for the week.  My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you've been given.  You received Christ Jesus the Master, now live HIM.  You're deeply rooted in HIM.  You are well constructed upon HIM.  You know your way around the faith.  Now do what you've been taught.  So school's out:  so quit studying the subject and start living it.  And let your lives spill into thanksgiving to God.  Colossians 2:6-7.
Katie shared yet another great devotional earlier in the week on "Being Still" out of Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God."  Katie shared she comes here to be able to be still and she wants to take the simplicity of this beautiful life back to North America and live it out on a daily basis.  John, the team leader and the father of Katie, shared how he feels the same way.  He enjoys coming here and being still and feeling the Lords' presence daily without interruptions or stuff he has to get done in his daily life.  John shared how we all get busy and it is hard to slow down and live life simple as our Honduran brothers and sisters do.  Josh shared being still back home is not acceptable.  We are expected to do and do and do, staying busy getting further ahead and for what people.  The things of this earth is not eternal, this is me speaking now not Josh.  Why do we push ourselves so hard daily and for what?  Stuff we truly do not need.  All we need to survive on this earth is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ which requires our time daily to be still and be in His Most Holy Presence. So I challenge all who is reading this today have you got a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and if you do how much time each day is given to building this personal relationship into a more intimate relationship with Him through the power of the Holy Spirit.  So my challenge to all today Jesus is all we need the rest is just stuff.  Thank you Katie for a reminder of what is most important in our daily lives.
