Home Dedication

All good things must come to an end.  Ray and Meida gathered the North Americans and Ana and her sweet family together to finish out this amazing week.  Ray opened up with prayer and led into thanking Ana for allowing this team to work beside her and her community this week.  He was grateful her hospitality shown to her team with the enchiladas and pupusas she prepared for them.  We were thankful for all the fellows who helped mixed the mescal and how amazing it was to see Alberto working so hard for his family's home.  Alberto is 12 years old and took great pride in his home.  Ray led into reading from God's Word 1 Peter 4:8-10.  As the team reflected back on this week they were humbled and amazed of how these 800 blocks and 52 bags of cement became a home in four and half days.  Russ stepped forward to present the Family Bible and shared how God's Word is the true foundation of this home.  He read from Joshua 1:8 as he presented Ana with the Family Bible.

Ray turned it over to John as he read from God's Word out of the book of Matthew 7:24-25.  He shared some inspiring words for the family to encourage them in days  ahead to cover their home in prayers daily and build upon God's Word.  Also one special thought on this family which has not been mentioned, Natividad the husband and father was very ill and each day John asked if he could go into Ana's father's home to pray over Natividad.  Some days Natividad said no to prayers because he was just so sick.  He tried the very first day to come out to the project but he was unable to physically.  Theresa shared how awesome this was going to be for him to move into this new home which will bring light and sunshine into his life.  Where the family is staying prior to this was dark and dungy.  God is so good to provide this family whose husband and father is basically disabled to work so Ana is the provider for the family by being a housekeeper in Choluteca.  Ana took off this week to be there while her home was being built.  John was the appropriate one to pray over this home this week. John's heart felt burden for Natividad because he is the head of his house and could not help his family.  But praise God for this team and the community Natividad lives in who help them so much on a daily basis by taking care of the children while Ana works.  This team learned about community and how awesome community can be for each other.  After laying hands on the home Ray turned in over to Bailey as she shared how the key will be a means of protecting them and securing them each day.  She read out of the book of Isaiah and she made a profound statement about how God's word is our true protection and security in this world.  Bailey as such a young age spoke words of encouragement and wisdom for this sweet family.

So as Bailey passed off the key Ana smiled that precious smile she had all week long and held the keys tightly in her hands.  Everyone said open up your home and welcome home.  Ana unlocked the door, opened it and the entire family eagerly went inside to their completed home.  She welcomed the team to come is and everyone was praising God for such an amazing week.
