Going Door to Door

Each day this team headed out of this church to go see what God had in store for them.  They were equipped with the Word of God and lots of prayer under their belts.  They took whatever came their way and allowed God to work through each event for their individual teams.  This team came here with their own concerns left back home.  But this week they set aside those concerns of home to delve into what God had in store for each of their lives.
One evening Joanne shared an amazing devotional on "Our Baggage" from a book written by Max Lucado. Her scripture reference was Psalm 23.  Let's face it folks, those reading this with me today, we all have baggage but it how we deal with our baggage in our lives will represent our relationship with Jesus Christ. We as a team Joanne shared brought down a lot of baggage for all they had to do this week, VBS materials, clothes and other necessary items. This baggage is made of leather.  But the baggage we are going to talk about during this devotional is baggage of fear, doubt, anger, grief and the list goes on and on.  We are fooling ourselves if we say we do not carry baggage around with us on a daily basis.  In Matthew 11:28 God's Word says to set your burdens down.  God is always there in our darkest valley.  As I was blessed to come to Honduras with this team has helped me to let go of some of my baggage this week.  Why is it we think we must carry our baggage when God wants us to let it go?
Pastor Matty asked for God moments how we all have left baggage at home this week to come and be refueled by our Heavenly Father.
Isaac shared how amazing worship service was today.  How the people greeted us with warm hugs and hand shakes.  How the Holy Spirit was alive in worship today as he listened to God's Word being preached and songs being sung.  Susan said simply the fellowship with each other today on our day of rest, the Sabbath.  We worshiped together, had lunch together, played cornhole and worked puzzles together as a family. How we were all very content here on Mt. Horeb with the simplicity of life.  Bobby and Zach got blessed today by the music in worship today.  David was blessed by 87 year old Domingo Sanches' testimony of how long he had been a member of this church and how grateful he was for the North Americans coming to Honduras to share the love of Jesus Christ with his people and his church family.
