God blessed Mt. Horeb and this ministry when Pastor Matty brought along his very godly and mature son, Isaac. Isaac was a quiet young man with a beautiful smile when approached with a simply good morning. His spirit was gentle but yet extremely solid. As the week passed getting to know Isaac and seeing him and his father going out together daily they simply blended naturally together. Their personal relationship prior to coming here was already a firm foundation for father and son. This is rare today to see such a closeness between a father and his son. Pastor Matty you are blessed to have such an amazing young man as a son at such a young age of sixteen. Isaac's respect for his father and how they worked side by side was definitely one of active back at home on a daily basis. Isaac gleaned every word his father shared but in return Pastor Matty gleaned every word his son shared as well.
As Isaac's turn to share in God's Word we were all taken back by such a solid message for all of us coming from such a young man. The title of Isaac's devotional was "Follow God's Command". Isaac pulled out of several references from God's Word, Genesis 16:13-14 about Noah.
Joshua 1:1-3, Joshua 6:15-20 about Joshua's faithfulness to God
Acts 9:1-8, Act 20"8-16 Saul becomes Paul
Luke 24:6-7 Jesus.
All of these men followed God's command in the Bible as we this week have followed God's command to come to Honduras. He shared how God took us today to the unknown in a village called Caladera. We obeyed God and followed his command to go to the unknown and how we were all blessed in many ways because of our faithfulness to be obedient.
It is always wise to listen to our young people because we can glean and learn so much from them. Thank you Isaac for being obedient and answer the calling to come serve with us in Honduras. It has been our joy to watch you and your father sharing in "Following God's Command" by being here this week.
