VBS in El Tamaboro

After each morning of going door to door the team headed back to the mango trees which are on the property of Juan Carlos, a new Christian. They broke for lunch and then played with the children. The young men on the team had a game of softball going with some of the children. The girls were sitting in a circle with some other children singing songs and playing frisbee. At 1:30 they would break up from their playing and get them focused on a bible story. One day was David and Goliath. Chais was Goliath and Brandon chose one of the Honduran boys to be David. The girls would sing songs with the children and then the entire team would lead the children into a craft. The children sat patiently on the ground as their crayons and craft activity was handed out to them. Under those mango trees this particular week was such a God moment for me. On the last day James shared his testimony with the adults and children. There was quiet a few adults there each day for VBS. Also on the last day the members from the sister church brought a pinata for the children filled with candy. After many tries by the children the team got Pastor David to try and he succeeded in breaking it. This was a week full of joy in so many ways. Thank you God for the church for allowing us to be there under those beautiful mango trees serving YOU.
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
