Pastor Paul and Bob were on bathroom duty on about the second day of the project. Once the walls got up high enough and it slowed down, Mike moved them over to try to get the bathrooms completed so the police could start using this facility. The Frontier Police of Honduras have not had sustainable bathrooms ever. So this is something God laid on Mike and my heart to provide this for them. They would go out with a small pail in hand and wrapped in a towel each day to shower and brush their teeth. Yes they took a bath out in the open to the best of their ability. So this is something we were trying hard to complete. Bob actually learned several new trades this week and once he learned them he was absolutely awesome at all of them. This was a hot job to say the least. There was not any air flow coming through the window and door of the bathroom. So these two gentlemen took one for the team and praise God they completed what Mike asked them to do.
Jacob our teenage on our team shared in his devotional one evening how we can find pure joy in all we do if we are doing it for the Lord. Truthfully Pastor Paul and Bob found true joy and pleasure in installing the urinals for the police officers. How many of us could say we find pure joy in whatever we are doing. Jacob's words of encouragement this evening was profound especially coming from a youth. We can learn so much from our young people who come into our lives with the same problems we have. He shared from James 1:12 "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of Life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him." Thank you Jacob for encouraging us all to trust in our Lord for true joy and peace in our lives even when putting in urinals.
