The moment we all had been waiting for the dedication of the bathrooms. Pastor Carlos and Mike gathered up as many police officers as they could to bring them together for this moment of dedication. Pastor Carlos opened us up in prayer and proceeded to share from God's word out of Psalm 127 and explained to all of the who truly built this facility for each of them. It was God first who provided all the means of this happening, not man!! God first and foremost should be at the front of all of our lives. God gives us all we have and we should be forever grateful for our provisions. We should never take for granted how powerful and mighty our God is and what He can do for us. There was a lot of folks standing there hearing God's Word maybe for the first time. As Pastor Paul shared one night in devotionals how each one of these men and women represented a family unit and they will leave this location one day and go somewhere else taking these words Pastor Carlos has shared along with them. Pastor Paul prays these words will lead them to Christ and allow them to go out and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to others who may have never heard the good news. So this dedication of much needed bathrooms for so many could very well spread the good news of Jesus Christ. What a concept? We never know how God may use any situation we are in to further His Kingdom.
Also Pastor Carlos asked the chief to say a few words to all of us as well. The Chief first gave God all the glory for all the many things taking place at this police location. God has definitely blessed each of us here in many ways. The Chief shared about the worship services provided for his men weekly or bi weekly. Now God has given us brand new bathrooms. He shared it all started one day about a year ago with this tall North American man came into his office asking a favor for his teams coming through on a daily basis. Several times in a months' span the bus would be pulled into the station area where the North Americans were asked to get off to be checked. Not that we were above doing this but we came through daily so Mike asked the Chief could he somehow work with us and the North Americans. He was most gracious and said of course. Since then the Chief and his men check on Mt. Horeb if they are going up to Tapitoca to work. They come by to drop off some delicious Honduran coffee. We have built an amazing relationship with this police frontier and we are forever blessed with our new community of friends God has placed in our lives. The Chief and several of the men refer to Mike and I as Papi Mike and Mami Ginger which is such a humble honor to have so many awesome children who we love so much!!!!
Then after the dedication Mike had tied off some red tape for the cutting ceremony. Actually the Chief knew exactly what we were doing. Mike, Pastor Carlos and the Chief went up to the front porch of the bathrooms to cut the ribbon as everyone stood back to watch. The Chief called for four of his men to come and go in to see their new bathrooms. People this was beyond any pictures or words could truly describe.
