Praise God For Nijo

Seven years ago God placed Nijo into our lives when we built his family of six a new home.  Afterwards he continued helping us build homes because he respects Pastor Ramon.  In the next two years we built other homes in his community and he always showed up to help build the homes.  One of the homes we built six years ago he finished helping with the foundation of the home and went home and birthed his seventh child in his new home.
The first morning on the project this week I was sitting under the mango trees.  The team only had two Honduran men mixing mescal.  The team helped as much as they could and these two Honduran men were working hard as they could.  I looked up and there was Nijo coming up to the project with his big smile on his face and the same outfit he wore seven years ago when we built his home and he wore that same outfit all week.  But it was what was under that outfit that truly matter.  The determination of a hard worker who loves helping his church family with his hands.  Once God blessed us with Nijo and his labor of love for his neighbors who lives five miles from where he lived.  Yes, Nijo also walked daily to help David Bessy and Rocio get their home. The respect Colonia Williams has for Pastor Ramon is humbling in so many areas.  I only wish I had the determination Nijo had to give his best to his church and his pastor.  Nijo shared he just delivered his eighth child.  He was so proud and happy sporting that large small across his face.  Can he afford those eight children no he cannot but he does his best to provide for them as he can.  This week he worked for the Lord and not man so his hard labor that was not stop was not one where he got paid money but he was given a hot meal each day for his services.  There is one sad note about our friend Nijo of seven years he has a drinking problem which Mike and I feel stems from not having any work to feed his eight absolutely gorgeous children, one who was named after Pastor Ramon and Mike.  They call him Ramon Miguel and I had the privilege to call his name out in VBS one day and he smiled that big smile just like his daddy has.  Thank you God for Nijo and I pray you will heal his body of alcoholism and provide work so he can feed his family.
