A Special Sunday

This was our first church service since the pandemic.  How appropriate Ray preached a sermon on worry out Matthew 6:28.  The last time we worshiped in a church was at this one in 2020.  God is so good.  Ray's sermon was sharing with us we waste our time worrying.  Worrying is worthless and it is a life of doubting God and not having faith in what the Bible says about His Grace, Mercy, Trust and Faithfulness.  One thing Ray said which really stood out to me was if we trust God with our salvation, our eternal home why can't we trust Him with our every day life, the simple problems which we think we have to fix ourselves instead of handing it over to God. Ouch people, ouch.  I am sure if you are reading this you will agree we all do this.  God can't fix this so I will, not true folks.  God's Word is the truth and it says in Matthew 6 not to to worry about our lives.  God takes care of the birds of the air and so why can't He take care of you and me.  He can people, God can provide all of our needs if we only will let Him. In John 14:1 Jesus tell us, "Don't let your heart be troubled." Jesus says, "Believe in God and believe in Me." Ray shared three points on how to do this the first one is to pray.  Pray to God every single day all day.  Secondly and most importantly give Jesus first place in our lives.  This is a giant part of trusting Jesus with our lives is putting  Him first in our lives and thirdly is do not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will bring its on troubles.  In other words take one day at a time.  Do not dwell on the past or the future just live in the day God has given us.  It was a perfect message for all of us who had just experienced a challenging year and God brought us all through it amen y amen.

We ended our day with a fried chicken meal at Restaurante de Cristobal.  This is a local restaurant we are trying to support in the town of Pavana.  So far every team has been pleased and loved the Honduran hospitality of Margaretta and her daughter as they serve us more than we can eat.  It is a cultural experience of pure joy and contentment to end a perfect amazing week.
