A Few Opportunities

This was our first time working in Las Prados with a construction team.  The foundation praise the Lord was perfectly squared 19x25.  But the 800 blocks were on the outside of the foundation against the fence.  So this was not this team's first rodeo with blocks on the outside.  So they started an assembly line and off they went passing blocks one to another until the blocks go to the foundation.

They continued to pass block to the foundation until they reached Gorden who stacked them ever so neatly and orderly.  Gorden knew exactly how many blocks were in the middle of the foundation once they got to their stopping point.  This was a well greased machine from day one with the team working as a team.

Also the re bar had not been put on each corner stone.  So Pastor Carlos and Mike went to work drilling holes to place the re bar in place.  During God moments that even Maurice shared how we got off to a rocky start with things not the way they were suppose to be BUT you did not here anyone complaining about the mishaps or anyone getting an attitude about the extra work.  Everyone pitched in and got started on all that needed to be done to get the day up and running.  The team finally got caught up to where they needed to be an hour into the morning.  But again this did not slow them down.  They completed their five courses on the first with a lot of help from their Honduran brothers.  Orlin had a lot of community and family support during this week.  Thank you God for all your many blessings this week.

Penny's devotional on the second evening was spot on from the day they had just completed.  The title of her devotional was "Evaluating the Foundation".  She shared about a tree growing up through a rock foundation.  People shared how someone needed to do something about this.  But no one every did anything about the tree growing.  Just like the tree growing through the old church building this team had a few problems with their foundation the first day.  But unlike the story they did take care of the blocks and the re bar so they could build this home on a solid foundation.  Our relationship with Christ should be built on a solid foundation.  We should get rid of the trees(sins) growing in our lives so we can like this team be able to build our lives from a solid foundation and that is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Evaluate your foundation today.  Where is your foundation grounded?  Is it in God's word or what man tells you?  As I share this today if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior I pray you will receive the greatest gift of all.  Build your life on the foundation of God's Word.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practiced is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practiced is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
Matthew 7:24-27
