The Children

Team member Sandy came prepared to do five days of VBS.  Little did she know the entire team would be going along to help her out. The team was finished each and every day by noon.  They all ate their lunch and headed to the church around one o'clock to do VBS with the children.  Each day consisted of the Bible story told my Sandy, a coloring sheet and a craft related to the Bible story.  The Creation story, Noah and the Ark, Zacchaeus, Jesus birth and the Salvation story They brought bubbles and Pastor Larry used this as a way of getting them out of the church so Sandy, Carrie and Morgan could get the church cleaned back up like they received it.  There was not any where to play soccer or throw a frisbee at the church but that did not stop Carrie.  Carrie formed her own soccer game at the job site with the children nearby the project site.  Sandy found several opportunities on the job site to share the love of Jesus with the children hanging out by reading them a book.  Please realize how special it is to read to a child well done here it is so very special not because the parents don't want to read to their children but possibly the parent cannot read or they work so hard all day providing their basic needs for the day they simply do not have the time to play with their children.  So Carrie and Sandy made a huge difference in the lives of the children God placed in their paths this week.  VBS was amazing but to get one on one attention is so much more special in the lives of these children.  Thank you all for loving on these beautiful children of Honduras.
