Each day the team prayed after every meal and before leaving to go to the job site. They also gathered at the job site to start their day in prayer with their fellow Honduran friends. The multipurpose is more than physical food you share spiritual food as well. In the evenings the team gathered after dinner to share in their God moments and their devotional. We were quiet impressed with our young people leading devotionals this week. Addison and Kaylie challenged everyone to share their favorite bible verse. After several folks shared they were challenged to take their bible verse out with them daily as they worked for the Lord this week. Addison added not only carry with you while you are here take it back home and apply it to your daily life. Tyler and Josh piggy backed the ladies idea and went another direction. They asked the team to share what they did new this wee and what did you see others doing that laid an impression on their hearts.
Some thoughts shared was Rick preserved with the chain saw. He shared how patient he and Pastor Carlos were with one another on how to get the blocks cut to Pastor Carlos' request. Rick and chain saw work together the whole week. God gets all the praise and honor.
Annika and Tyler shared heights were a challenge for them and how they adventured out and work off the scaffolding with God's help.
Lisa shared how she does not work in the heat at home but here she got out there and did God's work with joy in her heart. She lifted heavy blocks which she has not ever done before. To God be the glory.
Charity had the most important job of all giving out the water and encouraging her friends to take a break and rest.
Lynn shared how she had not ever mixed the mescal and sifted the sand until this year. It was very hard task to say the least. She appreciate all those who were doing all day because God definitely assisted me she said in this task.
Jessica likes to clean so she would keep the mud boards clean throughout the day. She found something she liked to do but was new to her as well.
Danielle was up on scaffolding working hard but while waiting on some mescal she took the time to enjoy God's creation which surrounded the project in every direction. We should always take time to enjoy the beauty of our Lord .
Kaylee was able to lift two blocks up at the same time. She shared how she had never lifted blocks before and God allowed her to lift two at the same time.
Karen also gave out water and was an encourager to her team players.
Addison shared how filling in joints was a new challenge for her but with God we can do all things.
Bette shared going out into the community to share the gospel with others and to invite their children to VBS. We just do not do this at home like we can do here. God lead the way to where he wanted us to go and people were receptive to our visits.
Josh shared how he had never touched a block before this week. He was cutting, measuring and carrying the block where Pastor Carlos needed them.
Everyone has learned a new task this week. They did activities which definitely took them out of their comfort zone. The most impressive of all these activities they all did it for the kingdom of God. They allowed God to use them when they were thinking I cannot go any further. Each and everyone of them met challenges their very first day on the job site but never once did they grumble. They worked with joy in their hearts. This team came along as a flexible well greased machine.
They were able to take their spiritual gifts and stretched them out to more spiritual gifts. We all have something we can offer God and as this team showed us we need to do as we are serving the Lord not man.
There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
1 Corinthians 12:6
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
