We were so grateful for this dental team this year. Senovia, our cook, was going to loose her front teeth in the next year if Dr. Horace had not treated her. She had several situations and Dr. Horace so gingerly took care of each of them. Once she got finished she was not feeling well. Mike and I ask Martha could she help Mike cook dinner that evening. Martha shouted of course no problem. So we took Senovia home to call it a day while Martha and Mike cooked an amazing meal of bbq chicken, rice and a melody of vegetables. Thank you two for stepping up to the plate and helping out a sister in need.
We brought some of our staff on the second morning, not one but everyone of them had something wrong inside their mouths. I asked Hallie please quit finding stuff wrong. She said I am sorry but it is what it is in their mouths. So the dental team worked our staff in with the other patients which that morning was 150 people wanting help. Demis had a local who stepped up to the plate and took names of the people in order of their arrival. They had their quota that day for the rest of the week. We did not bring the rest of our staff to the clinic because of the mass crowd of folks showing up for dental care.
Total each day the team averaged seeing forty eight the first day, fifty two the second day, around forty five the third day, fourth day thirty eight and the last day around forty. This team does so much more than extractions. They do the cleaning of teeth, the restoration of front teeth and filling cavities. It is not about the numbers with these folks it is about the quality of care they can provide for each patient God places before them. They come well equipped to the work God has called them to do. Thank you all for what you do for the people of Honduras.
