Mark, team leader, asked Mike could he give a quick lesson in laying block the way the Hondurans want them to. Mike gathered around the team and he proceeded to demonstrate how to lay the mud and not to be stingy with the mud but to put enough so when the block is placed on the foundation it will have a nice bed to lay on and secure the next block which comes. Mike shared the blocks should be a thumb length apart and you need to make sure it was level with the string each time you place a block down. Mark, team leader, shared laying 800 blocks could get boring after doing it all day but with this project the foundation was a little off so it made for a challenge in certain locations on the foundation at the beginning of the block laying. Every project is so very different and some foundations are level and some not so level. This foundation was so so and the team was able to figure out how to make sure it ended up level. Good work to all of our new friends who learned how to lay block with the help of Mike. Jerry, Jared, Diane, Terry, Chris and David all stood and learned very quickly how to do this and they all did their very best and should be so proud of each and every individual block they laid during their five days on the project.
