Pastor Carlos' Assistant

Our new team member came with a willing heart to serve wherever he was needed.  Mike brought to my attention on the first day by saying look who is Pastor Carlos' assistant. Our new friend Jerry.  Jerry pitched right in and handed Pastor Carlos the blocks as needed.  Jerry could not have picked a better person to partner with as our very own Pastor Carlos.  Actually these two young men are similar in many ways.  They both have a gentle spirit about them.  These two are genuine in their walk with the Lord.  Jerry has a love for the birds of Honduras as does Pastor Carlos.  Pastor Carlos sits on his porch reading his Bible early in the morning and enjoys the sounds of God's creation all around him.  He enjoys the quietness of Mt. Horeb and so does Jerry as he shared with me one morning how beautiful Mt. Horeb is and how close to God he feels by being here.  Jerry did an amazing job one evening sharing from God's Word out of Matthew 5 with "The Beatitudes" and comparing them to the Honduran people.  Jerry shared how he could in vision Jesus walking amongst these beautiful people as He did in the days of the New Testament.  What an amazing analogy of Gods Word in comparison to the way folks live here in Honduras.  Mike and I feel as if some days we are living out the Bible while out and about visiting or working in our thirty plus communities.  God has blessed this ministry and I am grateful Jerry got to experience a little of this beauty while he was working beside us here this week.
