Three stages of a Home

For the last six years NCBM has built over 85 homes in Choluteca, Honduras.  Each one is identical in many ways.  Some may be a few inches off and a few blocks off.  But they are all built in five days.  This above is what the progression looks like for the first three days.  New people come and cannot believe this can be done in five day.  There is 800 blocks, 52 bags of cement, two windows, two doors, mounds and mounds of sand, rock and rebar to make this structure become a home.  It takes hard work from the North Americans and a lot of help from their Honduran brothers and friends who also come along to volunteer to help a friend or family member get a home.  We see what true community is here in Honduras when we come together to build a home.  We learn so much from our friends on what true community is all about.  There are always numerous family and friends who come out to help a friend.  On the fifth day the floor and roof go up.  Thank you to all of you who in the last six years have laid a block or mixed mescal to help provide a family a home.  A house does not make a home but a lot of sweat equity surely makes a house a home.  All God's people says AMEN.

A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
Psalm 127:1
