Indian Cuisine in Honduras

Debby contacted me prior to coming wanting to know if we wanted her traditional Indian dinner one evening.  Well it did not take Mike long to respond to this request. So Debby gathered all her necessary foods from home to help make her dinner perfect in every way.  Debby coming in shared how she did not know where she would fit in well Debby adjusted very quickly to her new environment and blended very well with her new friends.  Mike assisted all he could as well as Sarah getting the prep work done the night before the big dinner.  Let me explain Mike and Sarah's help in the kitchen, it was simply sampling everything Debby was putting together.  A lot of help these two were.

We had informed the Honduran staff what was taking place for dinner on Saturday night. Martha came in the back door as Wilmer and Manuel came through the front door to check out what was taking place in the kitchen.  They were all so excited and Martha especially got in there and helped Debby all she could with keeping the kitchen clean along side of Dolly who helped chopped all the veggies and other foods for this big feast.  Debby worked very hard for two days in the afternoon after returning from the medical clinic.  She did it with joy from her heart. Debby has a servant's heart as Pastor Paul preached on where she loves to serve and please others. She works hard as she sweats in the kitchen with a smile on her face and laughter which is contagious as well.

The time had come to enjoy fine dining not once but twice.  This meal was prepared twice. Once on Saturday and on the last night upon requests from the Honduran staff.  They could not get their work completed on the last day for talking about Wednesday night dinner.  They were able to go first through the line and Martha had a plate full.  There was only two folks who did not like the Indian cuisine, team leader, Derek and we blessed him with Honduran spaghetti.  Pastor Carlos told him he was loco.  And we found out later Alexa did not like eat much either but ate the Honduran Spahgetti with Derek.  Everyone was blessed with overflowing of  abundance that evening.  What a great time of fellowship together.  Sarah, Debby's daughter shared I came all the way to Honduras to eat my moms Indian Cuisine as she enjoyed it going down.  Everyone was blessed beyond measure that evening with Debby's generous hospitality.

We had chicken curry, rice, cooked cabbage with coconut, cutlets, rice pudding, which the Hondurans loved and said it was similar to their rice pudding, yucca and salsa with jalepeno.  The staff was able to have leftovers for lunch the next day.  Manuel asked if she was able to come back next year.  Even our little quirky Rudy loved every morsel of his Indian Cuisine.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
