Family Reunion

Our family came many years to Honduras before Mike and I became on site coordinators.  Allyson already knew so many of our friends, North American and Honduran.  Allyson came four years ago with her firstborn son and one in her tummy.  So she got to meet Pastor Carlos at this time.  But throughout the years prior to her coming this week.  Many years ago she met Pastor Pedro before there was children in our family.  She already knew Martha prior to our first year upon coming to Honduras.  But especially Pastor Benjamin has a special place in Allyson's heart as well as our.  Our very first project in Honduras was building Pastor Benjamin's father's church.  Now Pastor Benjamin's father has passed and Pastor Benjamin followed in his father's footsteps.  So to spend the week with Pastor Benjamin was a special time for us all.  She had a joyful time seeing Meida again and specking only Spanish with Meida.  I told Meida prior to Allyson coming to only speak Spanish with her.  Allyson was quiet surprised how quickly her Spanish came back to her.  She has known Alexia eight years along with meeting her family our first year as on site coordinators.  So this was like a Honduran family reunion.  It does not stop there.  Allyson knew two of the three North Americans on this team as well.  She soon got to know Brooks and became a part of their family this week.  Allyson knew Rodd and Betty Lynn.  Rodd quickly learned Allyson could speak Spanish and had her translating for him while talking to Pastor Benjamin one evening after dinner.  Allyson used her Spanish quiet a bit catching up with her long time friends here in Honduras.  Enjoyed Allyson's beautiful smile as she shared in Spanish with her long time friends.  She shared how Pastor Benjamin still carries our family picture in his bible from seventeen years ago.  Allyson shared do we keep memories like our brothers and sisters in Honduras.  They treasure our short term friendship for a life time.  We could learn so much about friendships and how to appreciate them like our friends here in Honduras.
