An Amazing Home Dedication

The entire team participated in this amazing dedication for this beautiful family.  Christian opened it up with a prayer of  thanksgiving for allowing them to be apart of such a special week.  Anna Kate shared from God's word Psalm 127:1-2 "Unless the Lord builds the house, its labor is in van.  In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for the food to eat for he grants sleep to those  who love HIM." Justin read from Deuteronomy 28:6 "You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out."  A part of the blessing of  obedience to god is that the Christian is blessed in his or her daily work, children in their schoolwork, young people jobs.  Christians are blessed with the knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ. Becky read from Isaiah 33:6 "He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich stone of salvation and wisdom and knowledge the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.  Becky shared how Isaiah reminds us that the fear of the Lord is the key to the riches of Salvation and Wisdom.  As you enter and depart through this doorway, remember that Jesus is the they key to the Kingdom of Heaven.

At that time Becky gave Miriam the key to her home. Taylor proceeded with the message for the dedication.  Taylor shared the same message she shared with her church family on Youth Sunday.  Taylor shared how hard it was to say goodbye but how Mrs. Ginger shared with her last year it was only I will see you later.  Taylor had lost a grandparent this past year and she touched on this and how hard it was to loose someone you love.  How if we do not know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior it will be good bye, but the good news if you are a child of God and have received the greatest gift of all HIS SON,  JESUS CHRIST, it is I will see you later.  So if you are reading this today and you are not sure of your eternal home please please ask someone and find out about this greatest gift in your entire life, JESUS.  After Taylor shared her message, John Scott shared his personal testimony about not following Jesus for a while but then found true joy in a personal relationship with him.  Sarah did a phenomminal job sharing her personal testimony on how we are not alone in this life as long as we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Such strong and encouraging words from our young people.

The team at this time sang Open the Eyes to My Heart Lord in English and Spanish as I promise Jesus is our only answer and way to Heaven.
Mason had the honor of presenting the family bible to Miriam.  But God blessed each family member with their very own bible. Pastor Brian then ask the family did they have any words.  Well, let the flood gates flow.  Johnny started sharing how two years ago at the age of nineteen his father died from a cattle accident.  He was kicked and was hospitalized.  Johnny sat with his father at the age of nineteen watching his father slowly dying.  He could relate to Taylor's story about losing a loved one.  Johnny talked about his father was a good father and how he raised each one of them to respect others but there was one character he taught them which was evident this week was keep your emotions to yourself.  Do not feel openly with others.  The team shared how it was hard to read their four new friends sometimes and now we know why.  This is how they were taught to be.  As a man keep your feelings in tacked.  We all felt the day of dedication was the first time Johnny had shared this story openly as his brothers and mothers stood their sobbing along with most of the North Americans.  What a beautiful time in the Spirit of the Lord.  Pastor Carlos and Moses were quiet emotional as well.  This was a huge task Johnny shared with us as he let his feelings flow freely for the first time ever in his life.  Thank you God for Taylor's story about saying good bye.  Johnny was with his father when he passed so he was able to say see you later.  The rest of the family could not be there because of the cost of a bus ride into town.  Johnny became the man of the family that day and he is doing an outstanding job.  Some of our young people realized they are Johnny's age when he experienced this tragic time in his life.  What a humbling experience.  At that time Pastor Brian asked Pastor Carlos to give some closing comments.  Pastor Carlos basically said wow how do you follow something like this.  Everyone was overwhelmed with emotions at this home dedication.

As everyone was gathering their composure Pastor Brian asked everyone to lay their hands on the home to say our last prayer for this precious family.  Taylor prayed up to our Father in Heaven such an amazing prayer of praise of the week we all had just experienced.  Because of the power of the Holy Spirit this group of young people built more than a home this week.  They built relationships with the Hondurans and with the their team members which is going to last a life time.  Money cannot buy what these young people experienced this past week.  They felt, smelled, heard, saw and shared the beauty of Honduras this week.

Miriam went to open the key to her new home as her four sons followed her inside.  They were all showing a lot of feelings at this time.  We saw smiles we had not seen a lot this week.  We saw grateful hearts and eyes beaming with such joy as they stood inside their new home.  They lined up as each team member came with their good byes and see you laters.  What a beautiful week with both of our families, our church family and our Honduran families.  God is so good to allow Mike and I to have two families.  What a blessing it is to serve our Lord and Savior here in Honduras.

because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.
