Finding Our Place of Service

First of all the blocks needed to be moved from one side of the project to the other side of the project.  The team got smart really fast and made an assembly line for this first task.  This job got done rather quickly and without a lot of stress and strain on all those North American bodies.  Tim shared his body was only use to being inside and this was definitely a welcome challenge for him this week.  Shannon shared how her and a cousin went walking and praying daily for several weeks prior to her coming to Honduras so she will be better equipped to handle the heat.  This is actually not a bad idea.  Especially the part about the praying as you walk preparing your heart and body for Honduras.

While the team was moving blocks Pastor Carlos, Moses and Mike were trying to figure where the foundation was or should we say was not.  The church family did not quiet understand what it meant to put in a foundation.  Pastor Carlos was told by Pastor Juan Ramon the foundation was ready and they were so proud of the fact they got it completed.  Well it was completed in their eyes but our patient Pastor Carlos proceeded to work with what he had and made it all come together without missing a beat.  We are so blessed to have this talented and gifted man serving beside us in Honduras.

Once the blocks were secured Mike did a lesson on cutting blocks for this special foundation we inherited.  There were many willing bodies who stepped forward to line up the blocks according to Mike's directions.  This was a team effort.  Thank you Mark, Jordan and Gregg, team leader, for cutting the blocks and for all of you who moved the blocks and knocked out the nubs from the cut block.  There is so much work in just cutting the block on any given project. But today these folks took the challenge and was able to make the necessary adjustments to get Pastor Carlos what he needed to get this foundation up and running.

Also there was "The Mescal Pit Crew" as Pastor Robert called it.  This group grew as the week progressed. Pastor Robert started the process along with Mike teaching his new friends from Element Church what the recipe was for mixing the mescal.  This area became a witnessing tool for sharing the gospel with the Hondurans who showed up daily to assist their church family in getting Sunday School Classrooms.  There was a lot of relationship building during the five days around the Mescal Pit Crew.  What an amazing tool God used to share the gospel, mescal mixing?  God can use us wherever He needs to get the gospel shared.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
