Medical School

This past week Stephanie was blessed to speak the language and so engaged with alot of conversations with the Hondurans.   It did my heart good to reunite with Ramon Vargas who we have known for 8 plus years.  She stood listening to team leader Bill as she was told where she would be needed during the week.  She worked in Triage checking in the patients and helping where needed.
But the most beautiful part of observing her this week was when she would pick the brains of the Hondurans to see and learn how to say words correctly and to understand the patients she was working with daily.  Dr. Sarah shared how in rural areas their lingo is much different and so Stephanie proceeded to start taking notes when they had a chance to chat which was mainly at lunch time.  Meida was so kind to our Stephanie and made sure she was well taken care of  at lunch.  Yes she ate quiet a few tortillas this past week.  Gluten free of course.  At lunch one day she had their full attention all of the Honduran doctors and translators as they dined together.  They educated her on their people and how they treat and care for their people.  I was so proud of her this week.  Her emerging into the culture to learn how they live and how they speak and simply being apart of their lives this week.  Stephanie walked away with a wealth of knowledge from each one of them.  Thank you God for this provision for Stephanie.
