Wealth of Knowledge

Campbell's Medical Students spent some time shadowing the Honduran doctors.  They learned how they treat them with their medicines but also shared with them how to take care of a patient once the medicine runs and their monies.  Dr. Brenda especially has a lot of home remedies she shares even with Mike and I.  Several years back I had a bad ear ache.  Dr. Brenda told me to put a garlic clove warmed inside my ear and sure enough my ear ache went away.  There is so many different plants in these people's yards even fruits they can eat to help with certain ailments.  Kenicia was blessed to speak the native language, Spanish and was able to learn so much from Dr. Brenda.  Our daughter Stephanie spent a lot of time with Dr. Brenda and the other doctors helping us.  She shared it helped her better understand the patients coming through triage.  The rural Hondurans use a different lingo than others almost like a slang, so Stephanie learned so much from Sarah who was our translator this week and also a Doctor as well.  Stephanie took numerous notes on slangs the patients might have used which she had not ever heard of before.  Dr. David worked patiently with his patients and was blessed to work beside Dr. Brenda who has a wealth of knowledge and years of experience with her native people of Honduras.  We were very blessed this week.
