The first morning of the project for Campbell Medical new team member Caroline met our cook Maritza and learned how to make tortillas. There were by standers looking but Caroline was the one who each day but maybe one was out there each morning at 6:15 making tortillas. Maritza was handing out the tortillas to all who came by to watch. I shared with my friend Will, new team member along with several others, Andrew, Matt and Justin you guys are eating your supper, just saying. Well that did not stop all my new friends, they loved the tortillas especially when they were hot and a little bit of peanut butter. Actually the peanut butter was rather tasty on a hot tortilla. Try it sometimes. Uche, Kenicia and Michelle were out there one morning learning how to make tortillas as well. Everyone enjoyed the back porch of the kitchen area making and eating the tortillas. Maritz enjoyed teaching these young ladies her many many years of experience. Maritz has been making tortillas her entire life and now she was able to share her skills with others who were willing to learn. There was a high demand for tortilla presses after they learned how to make the tortillas. Buies Creek and Raleigh look out for homemade tortillas coming your way!!!
