Mixing Mescal

As we arrived and got the day started we realized we only had one Honduran helper to mix mescal. So some of the girls start sifting the sand and bringing over to the pile to mix the mescal.  Mr. Mike and Meida worked together to make the first batch as everyone, even our dear sweet Tino got dirty the first part of this day.  We were going to pick up someone from our campus to come help but Tino could not get there because of road problems. So Tino came back and when he did look what he came back to.  Lots of help came out of the wood works.

Alberto starting helping mix the mescal along with some neighborhood friends.  Slowly the process got started and their was a rhythm going around ten that morning. This did not slow the team down.  Scott learned how to mix the mescal as well and helped mix and haul the mescal to the boards as the ladies were laying those blocks .

Well why poor old Tino was working hard, Ana brought Pastor Carlos and Mike a great big hot cup of coffee to enjoy.  No worries later Tino got a cup as well, not quiet as large as the two bosses but it was some very good Honduran coffee.  Meanwhile Ray and Joey Eddie were busy cutting those special blocks the team needed for the day with the help of Mrs. Becky, Theresa and Alix.  Everyone was busy little bees about God's work.  Now mind you most of these folks are from the same church but some of them did not know each other until this week and a few meetings prior to coming.  It was beautiful to watch God at work unfolding what would be one special week for all of us. Especially Ana, Alberto, Natividad and Genesis.
There was a on going joke all week between Pastor Carlos and Tino.  Everyone knows Tino only gets paid to drive but sometimes Tino pitches in to help with what needs to get done, like today we needed him to get a little dirty mixing mescal until the reinforcements came on board.  Pastor Carlos told him he was not lazy right now because he had a shovel in his hands.  Tino works so hard for us when the team does not even know he is working.  But I am grateful to God Tino and Pastor Carlos have such a heart felt friendship in Christ Jesus.
