Blessed With Three Beautiful Families

Welcome back our sweet friends Thomas and Kaye.  Thomas shared this was his and Kaye's sixth trip to Honduras I believe.  Each time he gets another blessing from God entirely different and even some of the same from times past.  Kaye shared how coming here humbles you and helps you take a step back to see what truly is important in life and that is our relationship with Jesus Christ.  She shared how you come prepared and yet still so much more comes out of the week than you ever anticipated.  Kaye along with help from Thomas puts a lot of time and energy in preparing for this week of evangelism.  They orchestrate a massive VBS for the children for five days.  She shared how much joy she gets out of seeing the joy on the children's faces when they get to do their craft each day.  How appreciative the children are here for what you do for them.  Thomas enjoys talking to folks along the way and exercises the most genuine smile.  This year Kaye was able to celebrate her birthday in Honduras.  This was the best birthday every Kaye shared.  We are grateful you two got to come back to a place you can call home.

We would love to welcome our first time friends, Pastor Mike and his lovely daughter Hannah.  They have been on other international mission trips but this is their first time to Honduras.  Oakdale has been blessed with this very gifted family for 18 months and we got to share in those gifts for eight days this week.  Pastor Mike is a phenomenal pastor who preaches God's Word profoundly.  Even when he shares about the gospel the words flow off his tongue so naturally.  You can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when Pastor Mike shares.  He also has the gift of music.  He led us several nights in music before the devotions.  Hannah worked diligently with the children in VBS daily.  She has a quiet spirit but it also speaks volumes.   Her gentleness is priceless.  Her respect for her peers is rare in a young person her age.  Thank you Hannah for setting the example for others your age.  We are grateful you two accepted the calling to come and serve beside us in Honduras.  Every moment is a God moment.

We want to welcome back Glenn after coming his first time three years ago.  But this time he brought his lovely wife, Renee and their son Steven.  Wow what servant hearts the entire family has as they came to Honduras and exhibited daily.  Each one was willing to serve or do whatever needed to be done to help their fellow team members.  Renee led VBS on Sunday morning which we called it Sunday School.  Glenn shared a wealth of knowledge about God's word daily.  Their son, Steven age 16 knows his bible and how to share it with others.  This was amazing to watch this week as he would look up a scripture during devotions randomly and read it to the group.  This family spends time in God's Word daily but they also live it out as well.  What a beautiful way for a family to spend time together in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.  What great memories they will share from this week for years to come.
