Siesta time, VBS and More Siesta Time

After the floor and roof got completed they team chilled Honduran style.  Wherever they could find a spot this is where they flopped down for a while.  While some were resting the children played baseball as the women enjoyed watching.

The team did three days of VBS.  Maida started each day with singing to all the children had arrived from their homes.  Carol along with daughter Katie, and Sarah, Lynda, Mary and Ethel led the children in VBS daily.  They broke up into groups of four.  One group left with Ethel and Lynda to do relay activities.  Sarah and Katie led one group of children in their craft for the day and Carol and Mary enjoyed watching the children color their picture relevant to their daily bible story.  Carol brought back her sheets for the individual groups to sit on while VBS was taking place.  On the last day the group did the skit of  "The Good Samaritan".  Ray was the injured person who every one walked by and ignored except for the good Samaritan who was played by Harrison.  Lynda played an amazing part of the donkey who helped the injured man to the good Samaritan's home. On the last day everyone got to go to VBS before having lunch and dedicating the home. Thank you every one who helped bring the gospel to the children in Las Cabasas.

Mike, Clem, John, Harrison and Jose found their way to a nearby neighbor's home to taste a little bit of the culture.  Mike and Clem arrived first to learn how Teodoro goes out to kill deer to sell the skin to others to provide means for his family.  He uses a sling shot to kill the deer and other animals which also feeds his family.  Earlier this particular morning Jose asked Teodoro to kill some iguanas for the team to try in a soup.  Ingrid, wife of Teodoro, cooked the iguana in a delicious broth and served it to each of us, yes I enjoyed this delicacy as well.  It was so delicious and we all were grateful for their beautiful representation of genuine hospitality.  Teodoro took his time which he could have spend providing food for his family and provided us with a special treat for our tasting pleasure.  These folks always give their all to us and we are forever grateful for their lesson in giving to others.

"And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had."
